Can we bring juice boxes into TS restaurants?

After reading all the wonderful dining reviews, I am just starting to get a grasp of just how much food we will be getting with the dining plan! I am seriously considering having the kids (three 5-year-olds) share meals, like they usually do when we go out to eat at home.

I'm not thrilled about paying $4 just for drinks for two of the kids, though. Would they allow us to bring in juice boxes? Also, does anyone know if the restaurants offer regular apple juice for the kids? I have one who will drink nothing but milk or apple juice.

TIA

Betty

All restaurants have milk and apple juice. IMHO it's quite rude to bring your own drinks to save a few dollars. The kids meals almost always come with a drink, so if you are splitting two meals between three kids you'll only need to buy one kids drink.

I wouldn't bring my own drinks into a table service restaurant. It's one thing to bring them into the parks, quite another to bring them into a restaurant.

Do you mean the magic your way dining plan or your own personal plan? I thought you had to get the MYW plan for all members of your group?

I don't see any harm in taking a favorite juice with you and I don't see how this could be considered rude. I don't drink soda and always take my own (favorite) water with me into the parks. There has been occasion when I have had a newly opened bottle that I have with me at the TS and the CM's always ask me if I would like a glass of ice for my water. I'm sure a box of juice won't be considered a biggie. Susan

I am sure that many will frown upon bringing the juice in, but if it is for a preschooler, toddler, or baby, I say go for it. My children only drink milk, water, and real juices(no sugary Koolaid, Hi-c...they hate those). The last 2 times we went on vacation, they ended up drinking water for most of the trip bc many places did not have milk or real juice options. While it does not hurt them, who wants to drink water for a week? Milk also runs out very quickly, so even the places that have it run out.

If u are dining at a high end rest. I would not personally, but in the more casual table service rest. I would.

I think the OP was meaning only cashing in one child's voucher per meal, though, yes, she would have to purchase the meal plan for all in the party. it would mean that she had vouchers left over in the end, unless I am mistaken about how the dining plan works.

ninaeve,

You can get milk and or natural juices (no sugar added) at all WDW restaurants, counter service to upscale and anything inbetween...and they don't "run out".

There is no reason for the OP to bring her own beverages to a meal. (Except for an infant drinking baby juice.)

When our DD was under 2 we brought sippy cups with us but bought the beverage (milk usually) at the restaurant and filled it up. Many times CM's offered to take it with them to rinse it out and fill it up. The diposable ones we just tossed and took out a new one. I can see bringing infant formula, soy milk, stuff like that with you, but anyhting else I think should be purchased in the restaurant.
When we used to get the old Dream Maker Gold/Silver plans you had to get them for every member of your party 3 or over. Our child under 3 could eat for free from our plates. The CM's never, never charged us for her milk, even though we certainly would have paid. If we ordered her a kids meal, just for her, we paid for it.
I thought if you buy the MYW dining plan all kids over 3 have to be on it? Wouldn't you have to get the dining plan for all 3 kids? Also, kids portions at Disney are not really that large. My boys at 5 and 7 really would not have been able to share a kids meal. An adult meal, yes, absolutely. They are not huge eaters either, trust me. :)

I am glad to hear that, bc we have truly been to many restaurant during 2 separate vacations(non Disney) that really do run out. They have a certain amount, set aside some for cooking purposes, and have to borrow or go buy more. One time they did get more but we were done eating by that time. Hopefully, we have just had unlucky experiences that will not happen at Disney.

I did not see that the OP had 5 yr olds. No, I would not bring a school age child's drink.

Thank you all for your input. Yes, I was referring to the MYW Dining Plan. And yes, we will be buying it for all three kids (a bargain!) We might have the kids share some meals and use those "points" towards a breakfast. When they were younger, I never hesitated to bring in sippy cups to restaurants around here, but now that they're older I guess it would not be as acceptable. I think I may take in a couple juice boxes in a bag and play it by ear. If I ask the waitress and she responds with "no problem" then I'll just let them drink the juice boxes in the restaurant.

The reason I asked the question was that I did not want to automatically think it was "out" and then see everyone else doing it and wish I had brought some. (I know, I know, just 'cause everyone else is doing it, doesn't make it right...)

Even if we have to pay for drinks, $4 plus a portion of the $10.99 kids plan meal is STILL a bargain.

Yes, there are many times that my THREE kids share ONE meal. The waitress usually tells us there won't be enough food for them all. It never fails - there is always food left over! Of course, two hours later they're saying they're hungry....!

Thank you all for your thoughts. One month from today and we will be THERE!!!

When we take our grandaughter we always bring her sippy cup with. It starts with juice or something in it. Sometimes we need to order something extra sometimes we don't. Our servers have never had a problem with her having her own juice and cup.

I will be carrying juice boxes into the parks for my kids but I wouldn't use them in restaurants UNLESS they didn't have a suitable drink. My little one uses a sippy cup. If we order a meal for him, I pour the drink into his cup, if I decide to let him share than I wouldn't hesitate to just use his already filled cup.
