Can U use the DDE card for CP dinner package?

I purchased an AP card so I can get the DDE card and save alot of money on our food since we tend to spend alot (party of 6) and my husband usually order a couple glasses of red wine and so the savings would outweigh the cost. My ? is when I book my PS (or whatever they call it now) do I need to mention that I have a DDE card and will I get 20% off when I go to pay,


I wanted to book Le Celliers for the CP but don't want to miss out on getting a discount.

Plus, what's a good time to have dinner if I want to see the 5pm show?

Should we eat afterwards. What else is going on in Epcot for Xmas time. This will be our first Xmas there.

I don't believe that you can use DDE in conjunction with any special event. I'm kinda doing the same "thinking" right now as I want to get the best value from my DDE card, and I know I can't use it for Thanksgiving Day either. That means two meals for us (we will do CP package as we always do) will not be discounted! That makes the decision on where to dine those nights kind of difficult. However, dining at Le Cellier with the CP package is still a good value as you will easily spend more than the package bills (or that's been our experience in the past).

Don't forget the storytellers in each country at Epcot! Or the tree lighting ceremony at sunset!

DDE discounts were good all the time (from my experience) up until this year.
I have complained about that. The standard reply is "some" WDW restaurants will honor the DDE on holidays. But no one has been willing to give me a list. I have been told to check on my own when calling Dining. (Yeah, like they don't have enough to do without looking through each restaurant information until I find one that will accept it. Hence I don't eat on property on holidays any longer.)
I "think" from personal experience resort restaurants are more accomodating. I would ask Kona Cafe for example if they accept DDE on holidays.
I have heard Biergarten accepts holiday DDE discounts. But yet I tried one time and was told No.

I have always heard CP will not honor the DDE discount. I have not tried that myself.

DDE discounts have never been available for any specially-booked dining events (CP, Mother's day Brunch, Food & Wine events, etc....) - I've had one awhile now (6 years?) and that has always been the case.....You can, however, use it to discount the wine you drink with your CP meal (and that isn't included in the CP price) --- hey, a dollar is a dollar....right?

When you book the CP, tell them you want the 5 pm show - and they will give you the available dinner slots - I'm sure they are all after the show....BTW- If you def. want Le Cellier - book early - it tends to be one of the first to "sell-out".

I've wasn't able to get a discount on Christmas 2 years ago with my DDE - so I don't think it's a new policy....On CHristmas (and Thanksgiving) - the restaurants are FULL (with park visitors as well as locals) - so that is probably why.....Jill
