Hi!
I haven't been to WDW for a little over 3 years. We go at least once a year to DL but aren't that familiar with WDW, so I need some help. We are going late May, 2013.

Who's going?

me- woman age 41
hubby-42
daughter-5
son-2

We are going Fri-Wed, so 5 days/nights. Right now, these are on my list.

Chef Mickeys-breakfast
Cinderella's Royal Table-breakfast
Ca grill? closed?
Fultons-hubby loves
Ohana-dinner

Anything else we can add? Both kids are crazy for characters and princesses. We want to be in the parks as much as possible and not eating, but I do want to set up some fun meals.

Thanks in advance!!! :goodvibes

Depending on when exactly in late May, you might very well want to call now to book for Cinderella's Royal Table. Are you in your 180-day booking window yet? Cinderella's gets booked up very quickly. :)

and it's correct that California Grill will be closed. Such a disappointment for us as well.

Are you doing the dining plan and if so which one?

If you are on the dining plan you have to be aware that some places takes 2 table service credits (I believe Fulton's is a 2 credit place). You can use your credits however, but if you use 5 days worth of credits in 4 days, just know that you will be paying out of pocket for the rest of the days. You can't add on more days.

A fun place for your group might be Crystal Palace. There they have Pooh and Friends.

Yes, we are almost at the 180 mark. That's why I'm trying to figure this all out! :)
I do know that some restaurants are 2 credits. I'm not worried about $$ as much as just picking out the right choices in advance.
Any other ideas for good, fun, restaurants for our family?
TIA!:cool1:

50's Prime at Hollywood Studios can be a fun one too :)

Hi,

Sounds like a fun trip. I'm not a regular poster but was searching for info on the CG closure as we have a trip planned in early may and were hoping to try CG for the first time.
We have several children and have been to WDW twice.(Like you, lots of trip to DL.)
I thought it might be helpful to add that when we went to 50's Prime Time with our then 2 year old, 9yr old.....and older children, that unfortunately the boisterousness (don't know if that's a real word), of the waitress was intimidating, if not frightening, for both of the youngest ones, especially the 2 yr. old. She was extremely shy and did not like the loudness and directness of the waitress. I ended up taking her outside before the others finished because she was so upset.
If your youngest is very people friendly and not sensitive to noise and unexpected out-bursts and "scoldings" then you should be fine eating there.
Don't get me wrong, my husband and I loved it along with our older children, it was just a bit too much for the younger ones.

Our family's ultimate favorite that trip was Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends. There's just something a bit cuddlier and calmer with that group then Mickey and Friends and we enjoyed the food too. The best thing is you can make a ressie before the park opens and get in early. Take some pics by the castle, then eat, and still have a full day in the park. Or, our favorite thing to do is grab a light snack from our stash, be at MK at park opening, ride as many must-do rides in the am and then eat at Crystal Palace near the end of their breakfast hours. Then it serves as brunch and you get to sit and rest a while and trust me, you'll be hungrier and appreciate all the food choices even more than if you'd eaten at 7:30am.

Sorry I'm so long winded, but hope the info is helpful.
Enjoy your trip!
Shanna
