Specifically, If I would have someone transfer me their Dec 2011 points, can I use them for a June 2011 reservation? I think I'm clear on all the other rules on transfered points......borrowed points cant be transfered, the transfered points retain their origional use year etc etc. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Tina

MS did tell me that transfered in points can be banked. I would assume then that they can be borrowed.

You just cannot transfer borrowed or banked points but the receipient can bank them.

Nope, no can do. Transferred points cannot be borrowed. Banked, yes. Borrowed, no.

However, the points would be 2011 points (they would retain the resort and UY that they came from) so it could be tricky. Technically you would be using current Dec 2010 points (stay with me here) to book at June 2011 trip. But if you are using your 2011 UY points, maybe it would work.

Call MS and talk to a supervisor carefully explaining all the details - their UY, your UY, date of trips, etc. - and see what he or she says.

But your statement is contradictory. If you can't transfer borrowed points, then how can you borrow transfered points? It can't happen.

I just went through this yesterday with MS because I have transferred points from 2009-2010-2011

Transferred points CAN be banked!
Transferred points CANNOT be borrowed!:thumbsup2

I can also confirm that transferred points cannot be borrowed. I don't really understand why the rules allow transferred points to be banked but not borrowed. It would make more sense to me if transferred points could neither be banked nor borrowed, but I guess that we are lucky they can at least be banked.
