Can towels be taken off property?

We are going to Aulani in a few weeks and my question is whether the towels can be taken off property and then brought back. I know towels are handed out using room keys but if we want to visit a different beach can we take them with us and return them? If not, I will have to pack our own beach towels and they take up so much space.

We have been to high-end hotels on Maui and Kauai and were able to use hotel towels and wondered how Aulani handles it.

Thank you in Advance!

There's no way for them to ever know if the towel has left the property.

I agree with the above posters. We brought towels to sit on at one of the North Shore beaches. Dropped them in the towel return bins when we got back to the resort that afternoon.

I actually think they do know when we take them some of the time, and just don't care/mind. We did valet the whole time we were there (apparently DH was feeling fancy!), and the valets would stand with us and chat while we loaded and unloaded our stuff, including the stack of towels. Really, it would take an insane amount of effort to police it, since people take towels to their rooms, too.

Last time when I booked surfing class from them, they did tell me OK to bring their towels with me. So no problem to do that.

As others have said - yes! We donut all the time. Boat trips, beach excursions...all with their towels!
