Can tickets bought at Undercover Tourist be added to our KTTW Cards?

With that being the case, then why are some people not able to do it. I just seems that something that should be cut and dried is still a problem for some people.

Another reason why some guests have had problems is the infamous Disney computer system. When we arrived at our resort and went to the concierge desk to have our UCT tickets put on our KTTW cards we were told that they were having computer problems and couldn't do it AT THAT TIME. We just used our 'paper' ticket that day in the park. Later that evening, when we returned to the resort, we were able to have the change made.

Why would you want to do this?

Lol! I have no idea why anyone needs to put paper tickets on their KTTW cards, having never been to WDW. I do see, though, that it appears to be a very important issue, so there must be a reason to do it. We bought no expire tickets and do not plan to use them all on this trip,so I was wondering if I needed to get them put onto the KTTW card, what would happen to our leftovers? I personally have no problem keeping track of our tickets separately, but I have no idea as to why people want the tickets added.

Don't bother. It's not necessary and more complicated than you need to mess with if you're not even using them. Just put them away somewhere until you need them.

Most guests don't have non expiring tickets. They would have tickets only for that particular visit. By putting their paper tickets on the KTTW it is one less thing to have to carry around and keep track of.

Non expiring tickets that you will not use up on your current visit is a whole different kettle of fish. It's easier in the long run just to keep the original tickets.

1 Question

Are the No Expiration tickets Paper as well? Or do you get a credit type card with the ticket quantities coded on it? Never used UT before this will be our first trip.

But If I buy tickets today and they are just paper tickets, how do they know if they have expired.

For instance I want to buy 9 days hopper with waterparks and more.

So they send you 9 paper tickets? is that correct? then you use 1 ticket in august, how does it know that the 8 tickets left are expiring? This may sound like a dumb question, I have never used UT before. Is that what you get 9 paper tickets? Then the expiration starts after the first day that you use them? Actually I will be buying (4) 9 day PH & WP&M one for each of my family members.

SO I guess my question is what do the tickets look like when they arrive? Maybe somebody has a picture of the package they received? Do you actually get 9 paper tickets per person? Do you get 1 paper ticket per person that you can use for 9 days.

And do the Non expiration tickets look different than the other ones?

Soory alot of questions, just trying to figure this thing out

We ordered 10 day no expire tickets. They were normal looking paper tickets. Just one ticket to be used for all days.

It's not paper. The tickets are printed on Tyvek. They are much more durable that the plastic tickets.

The type of ticket is printed on the back. It will actually say how many days were originally on the ticket and if it includes WPF&M. If it is a no-expiry ticket, it will also be printed on there. If it is not a no-expiry ticket, it will say that it expires 14 days after first used.

SO I guess my question is what do the tickets look like when they arrive? Maybe somebody has a picture of the package they received? Do you actually get 9 paper tickets per person? Do you get 1 paper ticket per person that you can use for 9 days.
You will get one 9-day pass per person. I can scan a picture of the tickets that I have and put them up later. I don't have a copy of the fronts, only the backs. UT sends you a scan of the backs when they send the tickets.

And do the Non expiration tickets look different than the other ones?

The tickets look the same. I have gotten both expiry, no-expiry, with and without WPF&M. The only ones that look different are the hard ticket events and APs.

Picture of front and back of 6-day hopper with expiration. Identifying info has been redacted.

Thanks Marionette and all who have chimed in to help out. Those tickets look just fine. Initially was gonna buy exactly what we needed but I think I am just gonna buy (4) 10 DAYtickets with the works including no expiration. This way we dont have to worry about getting the most out of our dollar. And yes I dont think ican really afford it, but I am gonna break up the purchases in 2 lots of 2 tickets

Thanks again!!!

The only other thing I am gonna look into is the mousavers pin number. I have heard rumor that they supply a pin#. Is that for an ADDITIONAL discount above and over the discounted tickets that you can buy online?

Has anybody else used this Pin #?

I dont see a place to enter a redemption code on the UT website, or at least on the iPhone app anyway.

I don't know of a mousesavers pin number..but maybe I missed something.

There is a link, in every mousesavers news letter, that you can click on that brings you to a special mouseavers page on UT. You do save a few extra bucks a ticket with that.

Just sub to the newsletter...comes out around the 15th of the month, if memory serves...with occasional "hot deal" supplements coming out sporadically, as well.

Can I offer a suggestion? Buy what you need and then upgrade to the 10-day no-expiry with the works if you feel that you need to when you're at Disney. That way, you can spread out the cost between now and when you do the upgrade at the parks. Disney will bridge the price that you paid to the gate price of the ticket you have if you used that ticket at least once. Then you will only be charged the difference between the gate price of the ticket in your hand and the gate price of the ticket you want to upgrade to.

It's not a PIN #. It's a special link that comes with the monthly newsletter. Go to mousesavers.com and sign up. The newsletter comes out on the 15th of the month. If you don't get it in your email on the 15th, head over to the Budget Board and post a request on this thread:

That is an awesome Idea

So you are telling me that if I buy a 7 day with park hopper water parks and more I can upgade to a 10 day no expiration at the same cost as Undercover Tourist at Disney.

Could I go as far as buying lets say a 5 day base ticket to lock in the price then upgrade to 10 day with the works and no expiration?

If so I really dont understand how that works.

BTW thanks everybody I am learning alot!!!

I am confused I apologize. I also was on mousesavers and it said if you buy a 10 day with no expiration it doesn't really pay off unless you use it on more than 2 trips. That doesn't make sense.

I guess if you waste the rest of the uses you don't get your money's worth. But in order to use up 10 days at water parks and at the theme parks you would undoubtedly have to use the tickets on 3 or more visits. If you use it all up on 2 visits you still get your value?

Like I said I'm confused!!!

No, it doesn't work that way. I'll try to give you an idea of how it works without trying to be too confusing.

Let's say you bought a 7-day adult MYW hopper on UT. It costs $356.75 which is a savings of $35 off of the gate price for the same ticket. By purchasing from UT now, you lock in that $35 savings.

You go to Disney and use it once and then go to Guest Relations and tell them that you want to upgrade the ticket to a 10-day no-expiry hopper with WPF&M. The gate price of that ticket is $796.62. You will pay the difference between the gate price of your 7-day hopper ($391.92) and the ticket that you want. The difference is $404.70.

Of course, the savings on UT for a 10-day no-expiry hopper with WPF&M is well over $100 per ticket right now and your savings would be greater if you could purchase all of your tickets right now. But you said that you didn't think that you could really afford it and you were going to buy them in two purchases. The problem would be that those prices on UT are from before the current price hike. When they sell out of their old inventory at the old prices, the cost of the new tickets will be posted and your discount over the current gate prices will not be as great.

Yes it is very confusing...even mousavers says on its website that the ticket options are overwhelmingly confusing.

Having said that. I think I am just going to buy exactly what I need.

We are going to be in Disney in the heat of August for 9 days.
The plan is to buy a 7 day PH and WP&M and that way we will get the most out of our tickets without having to spend all the extra cash it takes to upgrade to No-Exy.

With a 7 day hopper we will undoubtedly use All 7 days. That I can guarantee. That will leave us 7 water park or mini golf or disney quest visits. B

Being that it is August and that my daughter used to be a lifeguard at BB we will probably (at the least) visit Each WP at least once. We love DTD and will probably stop by and visit Disney quest at least once. And I am sure my daughter will want to do another BB day seeing as she knows so many CM's there. So there will probably only be 3 water park visits wasted at the most.

The price of tose tickets at UT are $1511.
The price of a 10 complete is $2695

is it worth the extra 1100$ to have maybe 2 theme park days and 6 water park visits left? Because if we have 10 days we may just go to the theme parks 8 days instead of 7 as we are planning.

But on the other hand we can try to conserve and use as little as possible. If it is scorching hot we usually spend a day relaxing at the hotel pool accompanied by a DTD visit.

So to wrap up I think the best thing is to wait until the newsletter comes out, then get the 7 day with the works minus the no-expy and hopefully bring the price down below $1500. I would think the link would save us at least $11

Opinions Please!!!!!

Can you add ANY Disney tickets to your room key (or magic band or whatever it will be by the time I'm there!) if they're not bought through Disney? We have the 14 day UK Ultimates, it would be handy to be able to add to your bands!

I would buy the 5-day hopper w/WPF&M tickets and upgrade to more days at the park as outlined above.

Why? Because the current saving over the gate price as listed on UT is greater for the 5-day ticket than for the 7-day ticket. The 7-day ticket is $40 off of the gate price of a 7-day ticket. The 5-day ticket is $49 off of the gate price of a 5-day ticket. That's an additional savings of $9 per ticket! (It's even more on the mousesavers link.)

To illustrate:
  • You buy a 5-day WPF&M adult hopper ticket from UT for $347.95. Use it once and then upgrade to a 7-day WPF&M adult hopper at Guest Services.
  • The gate price for the 5-day WPF&M adult hopper ticket is $397.25 and they will "bridge" your ticket to that price. They will then apply $397.25 toward the purchase of a 7-day WPF&M adult hopper ticket, which costs $418.55.
  • They will then subtract the number of park days and other entitlements that you've already used. So if you used a DQ admission, a BB admission and 1 theme park admission, the ticket that they hand you will have 6 theme park days and 4 "plus" admissions on it.
  • You will pay the difference between your "bridged" ticket and the price of the new ticket. That amount would be $21.30.
  • Your total out-of-pocket cost for the adult 7-day MYW hopper w/WPF&M is $369.25.
  • Compare that to the UT price for the same 7-day ticket. $377.95 each, a savings of $8.70 per ticket.

Is your head spinning by now?

Now, some people will say that it's not worth wasting time to save $9. But when you have a family of 4, that's $36, which will pay for most of your lunch at a CS location.

Yes my head is spinning, BUT it does make sense. After you use the ticket atleast once, then you upgrade.

When you upgrade. they take the gate price for the 7 day PH and WP&M which is? $418.55 then they subtract the base price of the 5 day ticket that you have in hand which is. $397.25, so you owe $21.30 per ticket

does that sound correct?

So. You pay $347.95 to Undercover Tourist, and maybe even less with the Newsletter Link. Then you pay $21.30 to disney per ticket.

So without the newsletter Link (4) Tickets at UnderCover Tourist is
$1391.80. Then the upgrade at Disney is $85.20. Making the total cost of
$1477.00

Sofar YESSSS This is my best option!!!

Thank you for your research

I totally get how it works now. The upgrade situation that is. This is Great and easier on my pocket book at first since I am only gonna buy the 5 day tickets right now. The Newsletter comes out on Saturday and I will make the purchase that day!!

I will let you all know what the total cost is after the newsletter Link.
