we were thinking of buying at saratoga(150 pts),i know that the 150 pts will not be enough but my question is:can i top up my points through a resale at another resort?if so,what are the advantages/disadvantages to doing this and would i be better off buying all through resale-keeping in mind that saratoga expires in 2054 whereas the rest expire in 2042?

My guide told me that if you call to make a ressie between 7 months out and 11 months out you can only use the points you have at that one home resort.

IE
if you have 150 points at SSR
and 100 points at BWV
if you take advantage of the 11 month window for BWV you can only use the 100 points you have at BWV.

try 150 points if you need more points buy them when you need them - some DVC's are very happy with 150 points.

SSR will be in resales shortly.

Buy where you want to stay - if SSR then buy there, if BCV - then find you a good resalers.

most of time you can get the DVC resort of your choice at 7th months - but at Easter, the first two weeks of December, Thanksgiving - you must have points at the DVC resort you want.

sometimes spring break can also be back.

Summer is generally not a problem.

the wine and food festavial can be a problem at the EPcot resorts - BCV and BWV. If you have a couple of drinks the closer the better (my opinion).

so it just depends upon when you want to go.

you can stay in a studio for 2 weeks (not counting weekends) in the off season - you can either change hotels or just stay 5 days.
