Can this be done? SDMT timing

Tonight I was able to move our SDMT Fastpass up from 2:00 to 12:10 (Nov trip). Trouble is we have a 12:30 lunch at BOG. We need to do rider swap for this ride because our 2 y/o cannot ride it. First my husband will go with our 6 y/o and then i will go with our 4 y/o. I'm going to keep trying to move up our SDMT FP (even the day of since our other FPs are 9-10 and 10-11) but if I can't, will we be able to make it to our 12:30 lunch? They look close on the map but I've never been so not sure of the logistics of navigating the park with a double stroller and how long the wait is with FP+ and rider swap, etc.

Tap in five minutes early, but it might be close. I would have done it after lunch, honestly, given your considerations.

I'm pretty sure you have a 15 minute grace period.
Go, 15 minutes prior yo your FP time, do your rider switch and then go to lunch.
You should be fine. And they will also give you a 15 minute grace period on lunch. Again, you should be fine...

You have about 10 minutes after your scheduled reservation. If you get in line for SDMT 5 minutes before your scheduled fastpass, that will give you an extra 10-15 minutes.

It's only 5 minutes before for FPs, 15 mins after. You could always try and go earlier and see what they say, but prepare to wait a little bit.

I'm gonna say no. Even if you check in 5 min early for your FP, that only gives you 25 min to get the RS and get both groups through the FP line....that's not much time.

It all depends on how long the FP line is. We have done it when the line is 5 minutes and 20 minutes.
Definitely get in line as early as possible.
I would keep trying to get an earlier FP or later ADR
At least its a very short walk from there to BoG.

With three kids in tow, that's a lot of rushing around. The timing is PROBABLY doable, but that assumes that there's very little wait on the FP+ line, and that the ride is operating with no issues.

The question I would ask is "is this going to be enjoyable?" I think far too many people approach Disney vacations with the mindset that it's only going to be a success by cramming in as many things in the shortest timeframe possible. For one time or infrequent visitors, I can understand this mindset, however it runs the risk of turning vacation into an unenjoyable disaster for everyone.

Personally, I would have left the FP for SDMT to use after lunch.

The FP return line can be huge! Last weekend on a crowd level 2 night, the line for people waiting to redeem was about 50+. I don’t think you can do both. Isn’t the rider switch a piece of paper without a return time? Can you come back after lunch and use it?

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe with a rider switch you can return at any time. Is this correct or has it changed? The first parent can ride with 1 child then after lunch the second parent can ride with the other child.

Your DH could ride first, then take the toddler and head off to the reservation. When he gets there, he simply has to say he's waiting for the rest of his party. He will have shown up for the reservation on time, but you can be a little late.

That said, if you can change it, do so, because it will make everything a rush and nothing as enjoyable as it should be.

As others have said, I think your best bet is to hit 7DMT exactly 5 minutes early and use the rider switch after lunch. It’s not “official” policy but we have been to a couple of ADRs up to 15 minutes late and have been sat with no problem. I believe it is at the CMs discretion but think this is very doable if you are willing to use the RS after lunch. BOG is so close to 7DMT. Once you get the RS head to BOG with your other children and tell the CM at check in that you are waiting for your husband and child. I would be surprised if they didn’t accommodate you. Trying to complete the RS scenario you outlined would be tricky if there was any kind of wait in the FP line.
