WE are sailing on the dream and have staterooms 10658 and 10660 when do we ask for the balcony divider to be removed before the cruise or when we get on board?

I've only cruised on the Fantasy. But the balcony divider can be opened. Not really removed. Your Stateroom Host will do this. We usually see him/her when we drop off our carryons and ask for the balcony divider to be opened up and for our ice.

Enjoy

. Yes the divider can be opened. We did it with three balconys on our last trip, it was GREAT

Does anyone have any pictures of the divider being opened (Fantasy)?

We had connecting balcony staterooms on the Carnival Dream, and we got the divider unlocked for us. Unfortunately it was hinged and always blocked one of the doors to the stateroom. The doors to the veranda's were hinged as well.

I really hope that Disney laid the doorways out a little better on the Fantasy :)

Exactly what I was wondering!

Thanks everyone. My sister is coming and she thought you had to let them know before the cruise or else they wouldn't do it. I just want to make sure they will do it since they aren't connecting rooms. This would give us the ability to go between rooms

I know we had ours opened up on the Fantasy, but we had connecting staterooms. Not sure if that matters or not. We just asked the room hostess and she took care of it.

We were on the Fantasy last week. The cabins next to ours had their divider opened. It looked as if it folded right back on itself and also the veranda doors are sliding so you should be fine. I would just ask the stateroom attendant.

I believe I have read that the dividers are not removable on the Magic and Wonder.

We had the dividers removed between 3 rooms on the Dream. It was great! We used the balconies like a hallway instead of going out into the interior hall (only 2 of the 3 rooms connected).

We were on the Dream in Oct, three consecutive veranda rooms. Our stateroom attendant was able to open the divider for our connecting rooms, but we had to call guest services to open the divider to the third room. The divider is basically split in two and folded back so it does not block the sliding door into the room. It is not completely removed, about 50% is fixed in place. The resulting opening is about as wide as the chair on the veranda. (Cat 5D Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom, 6160, 6162, and 6164)
