Can Target price adjust without the receipt but with the credit card used?

Stupid question but maybe just maybe??

I was in target yesterday returning a game. If I read the sign right, they can look up the purchase if you have the credit card used and know what date it was purchased. That should help.

But Target doesn't price adjust at all

Even with a receipt

You have to return the higher priced item and then go buy the lower priced item.

No adjustments!

I bought some pajamas for a gift (it was a charity at my daughter's school, they were collecting new pajamas for kids in a shelter). They were $10, and the next week, they were marked down to $7 on sale. I just showed my receipt, and the cashier (while I was checking out) just adjusted and gave me a $3 credit. She said she could do it at the check out lane only because she's a manager. Otherwise, they could do it at the customer service counter.

I think you would either need the item with you and the credit card, or the receipt. But if you know the date you bought the item, maybe they can look it up.

I also do believe the item should have been initially full price, and go on sale within 2 weeks. So you don't have a lot of time to play with.

Good luck!

Well I found the receipt in my sons room all wrinkled up on his desk. He bought Wii sports resort yesterday for $59.99 and it's on sale today for $39.99. I'll give it a try later today and see what happens.

Thanks!

I had bought 2 task chairs there that originally were $30 and were then on sale for $20. I asked them what she could do without the receipt, She did a return - repurchase without a receipt, just the credit card it was purchased on. I'm not sure if she was supposed to do it or not. Did the same a few days later for the UBFunkeys that went on clearance.

That's good to know for the future. Did you have the products with you?

Unless Target recently changed something, I do price adjustments all the time (it has to be within 14 days of the original purchase). I bring my receipt & credit card to the customer serice counter, tell them what's now on sale, and they credit the difference to my credit card.:confused3

Well perhaps they've changed for the better, I'm basing my "no adjustments" comment on 3 experiences I had with them about 2-3 years ago. Each one of the times I had to actually return the item and then rebuy it, they wouldn't adjust!

Were your items on sale, or did they go on clearance? I believe you have to return & rebuy for clearance items, but if it's just a sale in the new weekly ad, you can get a price adjustment within 14 days.

Not true. They'll price adjust within 14 days of the original date of purchase with original receipt.

Exactly. they can only price adjust if it is a "sale" and will go back to regular price. If it goes Clearance, you have to return and re-buy.

Maybe it is a Texas thing but our Target does this within a 30 day window . I just got 10 back to my CC 2 days before Christmas when a Elgo set went on sale that I had bought for a gift

FYI, they will also add a coupon after a purchase. They give you cash even if you paid with a credit card. Not sure what the time limit is....

Target TM here... Price adjustments work with reciept within 14 days of purchasing if it goes on sale... Clearance (red stickers) are excluded.

Without a reciept... Trying to do a reciept lookup ... You would have to find the exact item on the floor (match size and color) so the DPCI code matches. If you still have the item or packaging you can bring that in too
