Can someone tell me about this 79 buck Trip Insurance...

I spoke to a cm last night and explained to her that our son had pre-existing medical issues (he has a broken neck) she said I did not need to delcare it and did not mention anything about having paid our dues before purchasing the policy, paid our dues 3 weeks ago. so does that mean then that we dont have this bit.
as we are from the UK I think it is still worth it even without the pre-existing as with us being so far away it is impossible for us to reschedule in that given use year so effectivley we would loose our points. plus we have taken out insurance at this end which covers medical. insurance here does not cover timeshare and something like an ash cloud situation.

cm said we would be re-imbursed the dues paid on each policy, i am assuming as we have used all the points for the one trip then thats how they would calculate it :confused3

I have emailed them as I feel the pre-existing bit was a bit misleading when I specifically mentioned it

When you fill out the paperwork for insurance, they always ask about pre-existing conditions, but it depends upon how far back they go. The old DVC insurance was 6 months back for pre-existing conditions.

So, if you lie about not having a condition, and then you go on vacation, but are taken ill by that condition, or, that condition causes another medical emergency, you will be denied. They will not cover you at all. So, you could be left with a hefty bill to pay.

Also, with this new DVC insurance, if you bought the insurance before your dues were paid, then they are waiving the pre-existing clause, which means that as long as your ailment qualifies, you will be covered, even if it is a pre-existing condition.

Not sure if I am understanding you correctly, but the CM is mistaken about the policy. I exhaustively read through the policy myself (I think I was the first to post on these boards about the pre-existing clause waiver with pre-payment of dues), and I noticed it. Had I had questions, I would have contacted the travel insurance office myself, and not Member Services, as she is incorrect, as the policy clearly states (it's in a special box on the policy document), that if you pay your dues before the insurance, you will get the pre-existing clause waiver.

Hope this helps, Tiger

its does help thanks, we are not covered, not a huge issue as we have alternative insurance in the UK to cover this but feel the cm did mislead especially when I specifically asked her and told her my son had a broken neck. she also never mentioned the rule about if you pay for it prior to taking / paying for your dues. I emailed travelex with my questions and also found that for us travelling from the UK we are also not covered for the breakdown assitance cover.

Get your insurance from an outiside company.

according to reps i've spoken to @ insuremytrip when booking trip insurance over the years for different cruises (with DVC stays at both ends), time share 'value' is not covered by their policies. Additionally, the cancel for any reason options many policies have don't apply to timeshares either.:confused3

We're still debating whether this is good or not for us.
