I'm fairly new to the boards :wave2: and have booked our 2006 vacation. We're doing 4 nights at WDW and the 7 day Eastern cruise :cool1:
Anyway I've become a planning freak :rotfl: and I've heard wonderful things about the "passporter" can somone give me some details on what is provided in this and how it has helped you plan? I've checked out the site but would like to hear from some of you.... I want to order one and I'm curious if it's available at our local BORDERS or if I have to order it online. Also ~ is the 2006 edition available? What's the diff with the deluxe passporter? Thank you everyone for any advice you can offer!!!! :teeth:

Hello and welcome. You will fit in just fine around as most of us are "planning freaks"! :3dglasses

Let's see if I can answer all your questions...

I can tell you that you HAVE to get one! We have one for WDW and one for the Disney Cruise. We bought them at our Walden Books but you can pick them up at most anybook store or order them from the web site. They are packed with tons of info. Hours for Topsiders/Beach Blanket and such. Low downs on excursions, folders for notekeeping, phone numbers, addresses, web sites, on and on!

Yes I believe the newest editon is out. If not you can pick up an older one and get the "updates" on line.

Difference with the Deluxe is it has a leather outer case.

Um, I am sure others with chime in with what ever I have left out.

Hope this helps you some though. I would say just go purchase it, you will not regret it!!

Have a WONDERful/MAGICal day :sunny:

The Passporter books are great for planning. There is one for the DCL Cruise Line (new edition next month) and one for the parks (new edition just out). You can order them on-line at the Passporter site or pick them at at any bookstore. I liked the folders in the back of the park PP for planning purposes. Just have the base model, but you can download updates and cut & paste yourself.

IMHO, although I really like the PP and have ordered the new DCL one, there are other publications that complement them. The Unofficial Guide is more comprehensive, but I wouldn't want to have to take it with me to the parks. There is another series of books "Aronda Parks", you can order on the All Ears site. They have 2 different books, CD's, DVD, etc. I purchased them all this year. The smallest book also had folders and fit nicely into my fanny pack.

Order them all - they're great reading for a Dis fan.

:flower3: ThAnK~yOu!!! :flower3:
I love this board!!! Sounds like a must have!!! One more question? Are any of you farmiliar with a "Franklin" (organizer) I have the leather, zipper one and I'm wondering if the passporter info could be put in this? You said the deluxe comes in a leather binder? How does the regular one come? Are they inserts or is it a book? ThAnKs Again!!!

:cool1: I'm checking out BORDERS tonight!! :cool1:

WDW PP is spiral bound 6-1/2 X 9 X 1-1/2 inches, can't add pages to base model. DCL is a paperback, same overall dimensions, but about 1/2 inch thick. Have a great time - planning is half the fun.

I am an avid planner and I love my passporter. I just got my second one. The 2005 came out recently, it will be awhile for 2006. Depending on when in 2006, you may wand to wait or if it is early in 06 buy this one. The base model is spiral bound, the deluxe is 3 ring (i think). Amazon has the cheapest price I could find and free shipping over $25. There is also one for DCL!

PASSPORTER IS AWESOME! It has maps of all the parks, important Disney phone numbers, little envelope pages where you can write what you did that day and store receipts and photos, tons of park info, what the stores in the parks carry, a place to write all of your confirmation numbers, little stickers to mark important pages, info on all of the tours, reviews of all the restaraunts (TS and counter service), and much more. It's a great book and a great keepsake of your trip.

I purchased the deluxe PP early this year and love it . It comes in a 5 ring "dayplanner" type binder and is fantastic. Once you decide where youare going to stay you can take out the info about the other hotels and add info about your cruise. Once you buy the deluxe version, next years editions come at a discount. IMHO the deluxe is well worth the extra cost
