Hi,
I am trying to find out if the parks are decorated??Is there any special events???

Thx

Oh, I want to hear about Christmas at Universal too!! :goodvibes

I've never been but I have heard there's a Grinchmas show, a Grinch character breakfast, and the Macy's Day parade.

I loved the pictures!

Does anyone know if the hotels do anything for Christmas? We'll be staying at the Royal Pacific Resort in December.

RPR dresses up the hotel like a tropical xmas. Colorful fishes and bows that feel just like a Xmas in Florida.

Thank you for the pics & advice////i want to go this Dec, but I want to make sure there is plenty of Christmas stuff to do.........I also have to find a plce to stay/ Something close.....I have not been to Universal in about 10years

The Christmas decorations start going up in early November and by December 1st...everything it ready to go. The festivities usually start around 12/5 and run until 1/2.

Is there any special events other than the Parade?

Also where would you stay?????

Well, we're going to stay at the Royal Pacific Resort, because my husband hates lines and once you factor in Front of the Line (or whatever they're called) passes for all four of us... it pretty much pays for the more expensive hotel room. Plus, we're staying for a week, so the per-day rate goes way down.

As far as I can tell, here's what we're likely to see...

*Macy's Day parade in Universal Studios
*Grinchmas in Islands of Adventure (not sure on the details - meet the Grinch? Admire decorations?)
*Some kind of Grinch stage play in Islands of Adventure
*Grinch character breakfast in Islands of Adventure
*Christmas decorations around the parks and resorts
*Christmas character souvenirs in the shops
*Christmas music and concerts at Citywalk (and maybe in the parks?)
*Possibly a Christmas themed Blues Brothers street show?
*And one of the hotel websites mentioned the possibility of "cookie decorating" and other holiday activities at the resort. I don't remember where I saw that.

I'm hoping for maybe some Christmassy themeing about Hogwarts!

There is a broadway style show of How The Grinch Stole Christmas that is not to be missed!!:thumbsup2 We see it every year and it never grows old.I just love how they decorate Suess Landing~way kool.
Macy's Day Parade is pretty fun also

Yes...The Royal Pacific Resort is right across the street from the park but still on property.

RPR is the Royal Pacific Resort - slightly less expensive than the other two on-site resorts (the Hard Rock Hotel and the Portofino Bay Resort).

You can either catch a boat or walk to the parks from any of the resorts. The Royal Pacific Resort has about a 10 minute walk, which is either incredibly long or hugely convenient depending on how you feel about walking. ;)

I can't wait, either!

And the walkway goes underneath street bridges, so there's no worry about crossing through traffic.

the year we went in december they had a small ice skating ring at citywalk:goodvibes do they still do that??
