I need a hotel in Orlando for 2 nights before Disney and 1 night after. The day before Disney, we are going to Sea World. We would like somewhere close to hwy 192(I heard this is the main part of Orlando?), with a shuttle to Sea World and close to Disney. A swimming pool is a must, I have 2 boys ages 4 & 8...I dont really know where to begin in my search..It doesnt have to be extravagant, however, it must be nice and kid friendly...Would someone with past experience please help me. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated...Thanks.....:cool1::banana:

You could try the Renaissance Sea World. Literally right across from the main entrance to Sea World. No need for shuttle, as you can walk to the main gate.

I have also stayed at the Residence Inn at Sea World, which has the benefit of free breakfast. I don't think there is a shuttle, but it is a very short cab ride to the main gate of Sea World. You might even be able to walk there, but it might be a good 15 - 20 minute walk.

HWY 192, for the most part, is in Kissimmee. There may be some places with shuttles to Disney there, but I doubt you would find one to Sea World.

The city of Orlando is about 15 miles north of Sea World and Disney. For most of the hotels that are near Sea World and Disney, you want to search for Lake Buena Vista, or along International Drive.

I would discourage you from looking at 192.Hwy 192 is in Kissimmee and was where people stayed to go to Disney before Disney had 20 hotels. There are still a few decent places to stay west of 535 on 192,however east of 535 the neighborhood just goes down hill fast, even west of 535 getting closer to Disney there are some closed places and just not what it used to be.I would suggest the Lake Buena Vista area which is the area north of World Center Dr.(536) and north to around Palm Pkway on highway 535(Also known as S Apopka Vineland rd). This area is very close to the Hotel Plaza blvd entrance to Disney which leads to Downtown Disney.

The other major area to look at is International Drive which has Sea World on the southern part and Universal towards the northern end. There area tons of restaurants,attractions,2 huge outlet malls,Prime and Orlando Premium, the Pointe Orlando and Festival bay shopping/dining complexes,Wet n Wild waterpark and tons and tons of hotels, much better than you'll find on 192.

I can suggest you that just type in Best hotel in Orlando in google and you will get best hotels.

Thanks

I actually really like the 192 area and lots of us have stayed off of 192. I suggest Comfort Suites Main Gate East. They have a pool open 24 hours/day and offer free deluxe continental breakfast including make your own waffles. The rooms sleep up to 6 people and have a microwave, coffee maker and small refrigerator.

They have a free shuttle to Sea World, but I am not sure how often it runs. My mom and sister stayed here and loved it. There were also some good reviews recently.

You can get a discount if you use the Orlando Magic Card and mention it when you book. Here is the link:

Good luck.

Remember that you'll have to pay to get yourself from the airport to your first hotel, and from your final hotel back to the airport. At that point, it may make sense to rent a car for the first few days of your trip, and your final day or two---the small extra cost will likely pay off significantly in convenience.

Being able to pick up a few odds and ends means you can pack more lightly---and maybe save even more on luggage fees. Being able to travel on your schedule rather than the hotels is also nice. Transportation outside The World is rarely better than "barely adequate".

The Comfort Suites Maingate east is one of the few places on 192 that are still good. The breakfast and the breakfast area are good and spacious, the rooms are clean and the hotel is relatively new and I like it's location tucked back away from the street. It's next to Old Town and close to Celebration, but like I said it's west of 535,don't go east of 535 as there really isn't anything left worthwhile that way.Although I still suggest I-Drive or Lake Buena Vista.
