"Merchandise or photo imaging products that may be offered at Character Dining experiences are not included, except at Cinderella’s Royal Table and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall."

Can someone explain what this means?

a some of the character dining places, they have photographers who take your photo. you can buy a photo package that they bring round during your meal.
at CRT the package is included as part of the meal, and that photo package is also included if you're on the DDP

Chef Mickey's is one of those places where they take photo and bring the package to you during the meal. You decide whether or not to buy the package for an additional fee. In 2007 the price was about $30.

Well, thats what I thought. Is this new? When we went in 2007, we did Akershus and I had to purchase the photo package separately for $35. And, we did have DDP then. Not that it changes anything, I was just curious! We are doing CRT this year so I won't have to purchase that package, right?

Many of the character meals and dinner shows have photographers taking pictures. The purchase of such packages is optional, and in general is not covered by the DDP (or DxDP).

However, at Cinderella's Royal Table and Akerhaus Banquet Hall, the picture package is included in the price of admission, whether you're on the DDP or not. For those two cases, you get the picture packages at no additional cost; I believe in either case, you may purchase additional packages above and beyond the amount provided -- those extra packages would not be covered by the DDP.

I think Akershus started including the photo package in the meal price sometime in mid-2008.

Is this still true? We are going in Dec on the DDP and eating at Akerhaus.

It means with the exception of CRT and Akershus you must pay separately if you wish to purchase photo packges at the restaurants that offer them.

Yes, it is still true that photo packages at Akershus and CRT are included in the dining plan.

Akershus began including the photo package in April 2008.

may include these additional restaurants' packages as part of the photopass plus offerings.
