Can someone help me with pins?

I ordered some from eBay and I'd like help making sure they're legit. This is my first experience with the pins, just thought it would be something fun for my 8yo on our first trip next week.

So I have 20 of them here, and they look real to me, but I really have no idea. I want to make sure we don't take unauthentic pins for trading!

Can anyone help me? I'm not really sure what I'm looking for to make sure they are real?

First, check out this thread and see if your seller is listed as good, bad, or not sure. If your seller isn't listed, then there may be a chance that no one here had done business with them before now.

If you don't already own any authentic park purchased pins, it will be hard to explain what to look for. Fake pins are off in color most of the time. The backstamps are not clear and legible. They are thinner than authentic pins. Just so many different things.

www.pinpics.com has a list of the most counterfitted pins out there. If your pins are on there, I would say they are fake.

Again, it can't be said enough that people can not sell $6-7 pins for $1 each and make money. If it sounds too good to be true.......

Good luck!

I was unsure of this too hun and also posted a thread.

What i did was took mine into a local disney store and had a cm check them out for me.
She said they were fine..it is worrying...does take the fun out of it a little.

Also mine were quite cheap which worried me but a bought a few so postage was not a lot

Happy trading

Thanks, my seller wasn't on that thread, I checked it the other day right after I won my bid. I didn't even see it until then, I really never even heard of these pins until a few days ago. I'm looking at pinpics now, but it is strange because some of them look exactly like the pictures, have the same stuff on the back, etc. But some of them have different years on the back as what is said on pinpics. Will the years always match up, or is the year on pinpics the year they start manufacturing it and sometimes it goes longer? Then, I got 2 supposedly out of the same set. One is minnie mouse head on blue background and the other is Buzz on blue background. Minnie's has the same year as on pinpics, and the blue is very vivid. Buzz's has a different year on the back and the blue looks a little lighter than the other. I don't really think if they're in the same set they would have different years on the back? So I wonder if they're both fake, or if there could possibly be some real ones and some fake ones in the same lot?

Bummer, there are no disney stores by me at all. The closest one is like 200 miles away. It's stupid, because there were 7 around here like a couple years ago but they all closed.

The CMs at the stores don't know. they really have no clue.
If the back stamps dont' match pinpics then they are probably scrappers.
