Can someone help me with current prices?

Hello, DH and I looked into buying BCV back in August of 2002 but knew that we really weren't in the position to jump into such a big purchase at that point. I'm the Disney addict and am really considering purchasing again, probably at SSR through Disney since we are young with our first child on the way and the extra 12 years sounds pretty good. I know there was just a price increase so how much are the points going for now and are there any special discounts or promotions going on? We actually probably wouldn't be able to take the plunge until around March or so of next year but I am still running the numbers and planning. Also, what are the maintenance fees at SSR per point? I know we could afford this if I want it bad enough but it still seems like such a big step. If you can't already tell, I tend to be conservative and agonize over every financial decision even though we do pretty well. Thanks for any help you can give me!!

We just bought SSR about a week ago, so lets see if I can answer your questions.

Going rate at SSR is now currently $95/pt

BUT...you will not pay that right now...

New members have two(2) options called "magical beginnings":

A) Buy back your first years points and save $10/pt ($85/pt)
B) Keep your first years points and save $5/pt ($90/pt)

The Maintenance fees at SSR are current $3.80/pt.

I am not sure what the prices will be next march but as of this week thats what they are going for.

That magical beginnings was great because that allowed us to add 10 more points than we normally would have without it!

Thanks so much!!! What is the financing %, assuming we have it directly taken out of our account. I was thinking it was around 11% (yikes!!!)?

Well duh, thats some important information I left off isn't

with 10% - 19% down its 10.75 APR

with 20% or more it's 9.75%

We are putting down about 30% and getting it directly out of our account for 10 years <---- we will be paying it off way before that but the low monthly payments in between are nice

Ours is a 10 yr (which we prepay regularly - Thx Disney Visa), and with direct debit, the rate is 9.75%. Better than a credit card, but not much. Then again, it doesn't hit your credit report either.

How do you prepay... just call up and tell them to charge a certain amount to your Credit Card... Also, do you have to specify that it is to be taken off the principle and not the interest?

You got it! No need to specify with the Disney folks (tho it can't hurt); all pre-payments go to principal. And paying it on my Disney Visa nets us a 1% reward for the next time we're at WDW (and there is always a next time, and soon, with DVC).

Are all use years currently available?

With more buildings sold that open, what are they telling you about how soon you can actually make your first trip home???

Were you told about the phase 3 addition not on the original map of the resort that we read about the this board just last week?

So, only add-ons of less than 100 points are really paying $95???
