Hi all!

I just have a little annoying problem that I can't seem to solve--I was wondering if any computer experts could help me. When I click on my Internet Explorer icon, the web page does not automatically come up anymore. Instead, I have to go to 'GO' then 'homepage' to access it. I've been playing around in the internet preferences, but can't seem to fix the problem. I'm on a Mac, but the Internet Explorer application is exactly the same. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

When you go to Tools / Internet Options, what does your home page says?

And when you say your home page doesn't show up, what page do you get when you first open IE? What does it say?

Thanks for the reply!

My homepage is still listed correctly as yahoo.com, and yahoo comes up when I access the window through go/homepage. Any ideas? Do you think the window would not come up if there was nothing listed in the homepage area in the internet options?

Some people select "Use Blank" as their home page. Since that's not your case, what comes up when you first click on IE? Sometimes Microsoft will change my home page to their announcement page, saying upgrade is available.

What does it say for you?

Hmmm...Well, technically nothing comes up when I double click the IE icon. The only thing that happens is the menubar on the top changes to adapt to the internet explorer program--no windows appear. To getting the window up on the screen requires me to go to go/homepage and then yahoo comes up succcessfully. Thanks for your patience!

Ah ! I have seen that on a Mac. I believe there is an option to change the application to open up into a "collapsed menu bar", to save space on the desktop. Unfortunately I don't have a Mac, and don't remember the key to restore it.

Can you click on that menu bar to something like "restore" or "maximize" or similiar? Will double clicking the menu bar restore it? Or click on the 'properties' of the IE icon to see if there is an option to uncheck that.

If you can't do it, see if you can find it in your menu.

What version of Explorer are you using? Are you in OS9 or OSX?

Ah! Problem solved! Thanks adamak and disneymad for your replies. I checked the possibility of a collapsed menubar. but it seemed everything was in tact. I noticed a box was not checked in internet options about accessing windows offline, so I checked it. Somehow, that solved the problem! Thanks again so much for your time and assistance--I appreciate it!!!!!

:)

I'm glad it's fixed. I would never have guessed an offline option is the problem!
