Can someone help me with a question?

Forgive me if this has been asked before, I have searched this thread several different ways and still not found my answer.
I have a room only res for one night, then switch to free dining package. If we decide to try to get into a park on our arrival day, I will pay over $500 for tickets for one day for our entire party. Can I check into my free dining package a day early just for the park tickets? I have a feeling I already know the answer here, but it doesn't hurt to ask! What do other people do? I was planning on our arrival day being a non-park day or downtown disney to avoid spending the extra money on 1 day tickets, but we might get an earlier flight and would hate to "waste" a day.

You cannot "check in" to your FD package, but you can pick up your tickets a day early. This will not allow you to use your dining credits, however.

In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park or DTD Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up. (Note this cannot be done at a water park.)

It is only valid for people with packages at a Walt Disney World owned and operated Resort. You can be staying off-property at the time you pick up the tickets. Note that if you have a package which includes Dining, although you can pick up your tickets early you cannot get access to the Dining until you have actually checked in to your Resort.

There is a possibility that if your package and the stay prior to the package are at the same Resort that you will be able to get the tickets at the Resort and not have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office.

And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort. There is a strong possibility that the tickets you have received prior to check-in cannot be added to your KTTW on or after check-in.

I would suggest you copy down the following information if you are planning to upgrade promotional tickets. If the person in the window is hesitant to upgrade these promotional tickets, ask them go go into The Hub >> WDW >> Work >> Ticketing >> Processes & Business Rules >> Early Ticket Pickup For Resort Packages where they will see the procedure.

I just wanted to add that you might want to have your package confirmation number with you when you do this. We got our tickets a day prior to a package stay last December and all I needed to show was a photo ID, but others have reported needing their confirmation number that the tickets were attached to. So just to be on the safe side, I'd have that information with you just in case .

Why can't I get any CM's to confirm this? I spoke with two different CM's yesterday and they both said the same thing, that I would need to buy one day tickets to enter the park on our first day. Any insight here? Is this one of "those things we don't speak of?"

I think technically the CMs are suppose to say that you CAN NOT pick up one day early. But in reality they do allow you to pick up early. It seems like they want to change it so you cant pick up early but they have not officially done it yet.

OK. So when I arrive at CBR, I can just ask to pick up my tickets early, not check in, so we can get into a park the day of arrival. Thank you all!
