Can someone help me understand codes?

Hi all. I'm fairly new with the boards and also posted this in the new user section. I am using a local TA to book our trip this June 28. We are staying at the Poly and our deposit -- or full package-- is due this May 10. I keep reading the sticky about codes for June/July. If published, are these something that anyone can use, or just Disney members. Should I pay the full package in May or just the deposit, hoping some other rates will come out. It's a bit confusing.

I don't have my info right here, but we are staying 5 nights and 6 days. We are doing the park hopper option and are also doing disney dining. Without air I think the price is around 3470 or something for 2 adults and 2 children. This doesn't include the air.
I have been checking the code forum just recently too. I didn't even see that one at first!

You could prob knock $200+ off that by using a AAA discount if you are a member.

Thank you, Denman. I'm not a member, but have thought about joining just to get the rates. However, my TA is also my aunt, and I have been a huge pain about this whole thing. She is not a AAA agent and could not book the resort if I went that route. For all the time she has already put into this for us, I think I will have to suck up the 200.

Try mousesavers.com they explain the codes to you. You call with the code exp CDW and tell them you want to see if that code is available for your stay. If so they will apply to you already existing res. I saved alot!!!!

disneyjulie, may I ask what is code exp CDW? I am going in July 23-29 and made my ressie through a TA. I am just wondering if I could also call in with that code even my ressie is handled by a TA.

You might want to check if you need to book through AAA to get their discount. Your aunt may be able to apply it.

Only AAA travel agents can get the AAA discount on packages.

First thing you want to do is work with a TA who specializes in Disney, i.e. Dreams Unlimited, Small World, Briar Patch Express & AAA if you are a AAA member...they know how to get you the best deals and are constantly aware of any specials be offered. They will monitor your res and try and get you a special rate if one is listed for your travel dates. Again, really important to use TA's that know Disney....
