I live in Orlando. I have a friend in Colorado whose son is 5 yrs old and has congestive heart failure and he deteriorates so fast and well Make a Wish just granted his wish and he will be at the Magic Kingdom December 1-7 and I know they will find it magical and the memories are something his mommy will have long after, well just for a long time. I know that sometimes there are employees on here and I just wanted to ask that not for me that for Draven is there anything that any employees are willing to do to make his stay more magical and help this trip really be his break from medicine for a minute and just be magic. He is so young and every week he goes to the hospital for blood draws and IVIG infusions and he is so brave and his mother is amazing she stays with him and is so strong through all of this. They are such a wonderful family. Kylee is s member of a charitable organization and every month we pick a charity and do fundraising for them and make the donations. She makes the time to do this while still taking her of this special little guy. Make a Wish is getting him there, I just would love to see a picture of him with his eyes lit up while he experiences the magic that is Disney. Please contact me. I can direct you to her facebook page so you can verify everything I am saying. I don't want recognition for this, I dont need it. I just want for someone to have a little of the magic I have experienced on my visits there.

is he staying at Give Kids The World? if so most of what you are looking for will be his already. he will have a special GAC, not one from the parks, Disney bends over to do for MAW kids. have been on 2 MAW trips with grandsons. granted GKTW village is not on site but it is very magical with lots of special activities for the families. they will have lots of special memories

I agree with the pp .. if Make a Wish is handling it .. it will be VERY special. My son's Make a Wish trip was amazing and we couldn't have wished for a more magical time !

If Make a Wish is handling it, then it will be VERY special. They will not differentiate one Make a Wish child from another, unfortunately they are all facing terminal illness :( I know they go above and beyond for each of these children on their trips, though.

On our last trip, we were in line to see Mary Poppins when a MAW child came up. She had a special CM with her and her mom and the CM came to us in line and explained very briefly that the little girl was with MAW and that she'd be cutting in front of us. Everyone in line was tearing up, especially me! She was having the time of her life and it was so nice to see how pampered she was by all the CM's. only one person in line was complaining about her cutting in front, but to his defense, he was a foreigner and may not have realized what was going on.

I hope that your friends have a great time. It's a lot just taking care of my healthy kids, I give so much praise to those dealing with their children's illness or disabilities. The strength it must take!

You may want to go on the DISabilities forum. They can probably help you out there as well. I hope your friend and her son have a truly magical experience.

When we went on my son's MAW trip, he was 4 & a half and we thought about not going to universal. But, GKTW gives you 2 days at Universal as their "standard package" so we went. They treated my son like the president. It was amazing, surprisingly, much more than Disney. I would def recommend going to universal. My son died 2 yrs ago at the age of 8. I struggle to get through every day and our precious memories with him mean so much. The people at Give KIds the World will also help with anything they can to make the trip magical. If there is one special thing or character he loves, tell him mom to share that because sometimes they can do special things, like a special meet & greet.
I hope they have an amazing trip full of wonderful memories. Our trip was also early December-great time to go.

I can't imagine how you get up and get moving everyday. Losing a child must just be the most unbearable pain there is. What a wonderful gift it must have been to get a MAW trip! It sounded like it was just magical!

I'm so sorry for you and I hope that the days get a little easier for you. Lots of love to you and your family.
