Hi guys,

I realise I've left this really late but I thought it's worth asking anyways. Hoping that some of guys who are really familiar with London/who live in London can help me out :)

Tomorrow, I'm heading to London for the night. Once there, I'll catch the tube to West Brompton from Victoria, and then later in the evening, I'll be catching the train/tube + train from West Brompton to Battersea Park.

Will probably get a taxi back from Battersea Park to our hotel in West Brompton as it'll be late at around 2:30am-ish. The following day, I'll be catching the tube back from west Brompton to Victoria.

So my question is: do you think it's worth me buying an Oyster card for these journeys (Just to mention, that I'll probably be heading to London again mid-Oct, and will be using public transport to get to Waterloo)? Or do you think I would be better off just paying for cash single fares?

Any help would be massively appreciated :goodvibes

TIA!:thumbsup2

Ooo also, if anybody recommends the Oyster card, could you let me know how it works/how much they cost. Have looked at the tfl website, but am still a little confused  (doesn't take much :rotfl:)

hiya, I don't use the London transport much any more but thinking a 1 day travelcard is the way to go tomorrow then pay single fare on Friday, that's what I would do.
hope somebody who uses it frequently will be able to say more, just didn't want to read and run. hope you have a fab time x

Beth, we got Oyster cards a couple of weeks ago. They cost £3 each which you can get refunded if you hand it back but we've kept ours so we can use them next time we're in London plus it'll be quicker/easier to load them up at home in advance. We were only travelling within Zones 1 and 2 so had them loaded with £5.60 per day which is the amount travel is capped at per day in those zones provided we didn't travel before 9:30am. One day we only used about £3 worth so the rest just stayed on the card as a credit.

When you get to Victoria (rail station) go to the travel shop there and they are really helpful. They'll make sure it's loaded with what you want.

Have fun!! :goodvibes
