Can someone fill me in on Swan/Dolphin hotels???

We are staying at the Swan the second week of June. As I was reading on here about resort fees and parking fees, I asked my travel agent (we are going on a package deal) about them. He specifically called the Swan and got told there is a daily parking fee which will be extra we will have to pay, but no resort fee. Perhaps there is one for people staying and not using a travel agent, but he talked to a Swan representative, plus he looked on their website and didn't see one.

Blessings, Michelle

Well, I just saw it on their website and I am not a travel agent!!!

The Walt Disney World Swan has a mandatory 17 USD per day Resort Service Package. The Resort Service Package includes unlimited access to our Resort's Heath Club Facilities, in-room High Speed Internet, unlimited local and domestic (US mainland) calls, and 2 bottles of water daily.

Michelle, Your travel agent is wrong. The resort fee is $17 plus tax per day. Please look on the Swan/Dolphin website yourself, or call yourself. I wouldn't want you to get caught with an unexpected charge for your stay.

It also could be that the resort free is included when your agent made the reservation so you already have he price WITH the resort fee.

If I were you I would check out the website and play with it.

Yeah, to repeat... No Magical Express + daily resort fee. Add it all up and see what your savings is then, vs perhaps Port Orleans, where you'd still have great access to DTD and then Epcot if you wanted.

I've stayed at Swolphin before. It's nice, restaurants are fantastic, pool area very nice, on Boardwalk, etc... But if your plans are mainly DTD, stay at Port Orleans for same price as S/D?

With the Summer Discount, the rooms at Port Orleans Riverside are $164.80/night for standard room.

A comparison between POR and the Swan and Dolphin are like apples and oranges. The S/D is a deluxe resort within walking distance to two parks and tons of restaurants onsite. POR is ...not. I would choose S/d over a mod every time.

Absolutely agree with this. Not only are the Swan/Dolphin deluxe hotels, but they are in a premium location. Epcot area is my favorite place to stay.

Resort fee, not free.
Sorry typing on my phone.

Even if this is true, it sure sounds like the TA doesn't know what they are talking about. Why wouldn't they say all fees are included instead of there are no resort fees. Also, the TA saying they couldn't find resort fees on the website? They are clearly on the website. This would make me doubt that the TA bothered to call or check the website. I would be leery of this TA.

Agree that this poster should play around with the website.

Thirded. Other than having a similar price point, there's just no comparison between the Swan/Dolphin and POR. And in my book, being able to walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios wins out over a boat ride to DTD every time.

True the TA should know and be able to see. Apparently not doing job right!

For an adults-only trip IMO Swan/Dolphin is a no-brainier. The main drawback that some people mention is that they are not as kid-friendly as the other Disney resorts. However, we have stayed there with DDs10 and 8 four times, so clearly we don't find it to be a big deal.

Swan/Dolphin are true hotels, whereas I still find the mods to be motel-ish with their exterior hallways. (Albeit wonderfully themed.) And the Boardwalk location and proximity to parks is my favorite in all WDW.

Yes, there are additional fees that may bring the total cost a bit higher than CBR or the like, but I think you'll find it's a significant upgrade.

Have a great trip!

We love the Dolphin and stay there all the time, especially since the WDW resort rates have blown up! The rooms are large, the beds are super comfy and the location is perfect. There isnt that much Disney themeing and you cannot charge WDW to your room but I am fine with that.

We are Starwoods rewards customers so we trade in points for free nights alot. Staying there next month and I cannot wait! Booked a 10 night trip in Oct too, normally we would stay at the BWI but the price is more than double what the Dolphin is.

Just came back from a fabulous stay at the Dolphin. We are Starwood gold members, and at gold level, they waive the resort fee. We would gladly stay there again!
