Can someone fill me in on how this works???

Right now we are going to disney on October 16th-22. There will be 5 of us my hubby and 3 children. Our dream vacation but on a budget. We are driving from Indiana. I do have a value resort booked, but I love some of the more exspensive ones but just cant swing it. How much per point during this time of the year. Does someone have a list of how many points per day stay at some of the DVC rentals.. I hope you understand my jabbering..lol

Points average about $10 per point (some higher, some lower). To rent, place an ad on the rent/trade board and post what you are looking for. Or, you could answer owners ads to rent.

Just be aware...when renting DVC you do not get daily maid service, and the cancellation policies are not as "friendly" as they are thru CRO.

Do they allow 5 in a value resort room? To answer your question, you would need to book a 2 bedroom, I believe. I think a studio and 1 bedroom sleep 4 unless one of the kids sleeps in a crib, then they can do 5. For the dates you mention BCV and BWV probably would be out. They are usually booked at around 9 months out during F&W Fest. You could try to find a member with points there but it is doubtful. Lets look at OKW and SSR, the 2 biggest DVC resorts and your best chance of getting points for. OKW, 2 bedroom for those dates would be 208 points or $2008 assuming $10/point. SSR would be 226 or $2260. I'll give one bedroom breakdown in case you have a little one in a pack n play. OKW - 154 or $1540, SSR - 172 or $1720. Hope this helps out. If you can swing it try this route, 5 in a value wouldn't even be enjoyable. Those value rooms are sardine cans with no balconies. Also look into Marriott Grande Vista Resort. Really nice timeshare resort that can be booked on cash for pretty cheap rates. It is right near Seaworld and about 10-15 minutes from Disney. I'll log on and get you a price then post it for you. Here is the Marriott Grande Vista price I promised, This is for a 2 bedroom/2 bath with full kitchen. Rooms just like DVC 2 bedroom, maybe a little bigger with the exception of OKW. $255/ night for a total of $1530. This price came right from Marriott website for the property.

You can put five in a DVC one bedroom. They will only provide linens for four and rollaways are not available. You cannot technicallly put five in a value unless one is under three, but people do it all the time.
