I did the Original Stroller Swap back in '03 which ran for 3 years. Our stroller was donated by someone who offered it to anyone that wanted it. Their last night was my first night so we arranged a meet. We were talking about it on the board and decided to keep swapping it around to other DISers.
We had a sign up list of users and one of sitters so the stroller was always with a DISer. We also had a scrapbook and supplies for everyone to make a page as well as little stuff that we left each other (raincoats, shout, stickers etc) one time there was a styrofoam cooler.
The stroller was handed off personally to everyone. It was never to be left at a resort and if it was it had to have a claim ticket and I was to be sent the number.
It was tough to track sometimes and I had lost it a few times. Luckily for me I always had a DISer down in WDW that could take the precious time out of their vacation to help me track it down.
Eventually I moved to FL and was able to do the majority of the sitting myself. The swap ended when our stroller was left outside a restaurant.
The original owner didn't want her stroller back. Just wanted to be part of the swap.
It was a great community effort and everyone who particiapated was great.
I even got a tag out of it.
