Can someone explain to me the monorail thing? And people mover?

I've ridden on the monorail once - it made me motion sick. But now I'm reading other threads that reference kids having a good time and sitting in the first section? I don't know anything about it - can someone explain that to me? :confused3

Also, what's the people mover? And something with two Ts? TT? People talk about seeing other rides when they're on it?

Clearly, I've been missing out! LOL

Let me see if I can help you out. When you go to ride the monrail, you can ask the CM's that are on the platform if you can ride in front with the driver. It is a VERY cool ride.

I think what you are thinking of is the TTA (Tomorrowland Transit Autority) It's a ride in MK (in Tomorrowland obviously) that goes above the park and above rides like Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain. It's a nice ride when you are tired. You can get some great pictures of the castle too.

Have a great trip

"ditto" :cool1:
check it out next time.

I love the monorail PROVIDED I SIT FACING FORWARD. If I sit backward I get queasy. Same thing happened when we had our airplane, if I sat facing forward I was fine, if we flew in someone elses plane that had what they call club seatin (two facing two) I was sick as a dog. The front of the monorail is really fun, they will take a family of four maximum. Simply ask one of the CMs that load you onto it if you can ride up front. You may, however, have to wait a bit if others are ahead of you.

The Tomorrowland Transit AUthority is up that escalator across from the entrance to Buzz Lightyear. It's around the corner from the line to the Astro Orbiter (that makes me heave every time!). The TTA is a must do for us. The cars are similar to the ones on Spaceship earth, again, you sit facing each other so be sure to face forward. It takes you through the upper part of the Tomorrowland rides, Space Mountain, Buzz, through the upper part of the shop at Stitch, it is a very relaxing ride. Try them the next time you're there!

Exactly what Evil Genius stated. But remember the front cab of the monorail has a 4 person limit. Just ask the CM when you get the monorail platform if you can ride up front. They will let you know if someone is already waiting. Sometimes its like us - a group of 2 - and therefore 2 of your group can ride up front.

I DO NOT recommend you ride there if you have motion sickness. I double that recommendation that you don't ride up front at night if you have motion sickness. It's something I've never had to worry about my entire life - and I had quite an adventure with motion sickness and vertigo my last trip. But your kids will absolutely love it!

The TTA (or the WED people mover I think it was called) takes you all around Tommorowland. It is calm and relaxing - like riding in an open top car. Take the escalator up - it's by the Astro Orbiter - and board the cars. It is seldom crowded and a nice way to get to see the other rides. It goes by Stitch's Great Adventure, Space Mountain, the Astro Orbitor, the speedway, Buzz Lightyear, etc.

Have a great time!

I second that...bring back the Wedway Peoplemover!!!
:worship: "All hale the Wedway Peoplemover"

The TTA is my favorite attraction. Since there are never any lines, CM's are more than happy to let you stay on the ride as many rotations as you want. If they'd let you bring lunch I might never get off LOL.

What do you mean by "bring it back?"

Well, maybe DH and I will have to separate so the kids can have a chance to experience that one :)

Now on TTA - no motion worries? What about fear of heights? (DH)

We're a real treat to go to WDW! LOL

If you don't have trouble riding in a car, I don't think TTA will cause motion sickness. You're riding in a little open car, along a track that's about 1 story above the ground. It doesn't go very fast at all, and there's no hills or drops. You travel around the Tomorrowland area, in and out of the buildings.

If you have trouble with the monorail...hm, it's hard to say. That sounds like very severe motion sickeness; TTA might give you problems, too.

TTA and fear of heights...it's certainly not as high as the monorail beam. If DH is OK on the monorail, he should be fine on TTA.

I had a chance to sit in the front of the monorail, and it was great! I don't get upset if I don't ride the front, because to me, riding the monorail is part of the Disney World experience, and always choose it over the ferry boat or bus.

I rode the TTA twice, and find myself imitating that announcer, saying something like "Now Approaching Space Mountain".

Or how about "paging Mr Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow".

Once we rode with our DD during nap time and she fell asleep in our arms. We road about 10 times around until we could not take it any more.

The name "Wedway Peoplemover". They changed it to TTA and I don't much care for it. I like the classic names. I know...they had to make it more futuristic.
