Can someone explain this?

If I were re-creating that monogram, I would use two different size dicuts and cordinating paper. But if you have a steady hand, and a sharp craft knife, I am sure someone could cut that out well. I think the die cut alphabets would be a little easier.... :confused3

do the letters on the computer, with the background colour you want then print it a cut it out semi accuratly and stick it on the rest of the background...a demo of photoshop would be the best thing, but basic knowldge of pain should do the trick too :)

cute, thanks for the laugh. :teeth:

I have heard that the best way to do the knife cutting work is to use one of those cheapo snap off blade knives. Snap off the blade after each LETTER you cut to keep it at its sharpest. Also use a glass mat, and move the paper more than the knife when going around curves. Hope that helps... Good luck!

Cutting such slim letters is rather hard, I've done it a few times and it turned out okay but it took forever. Have you thought about letter die cuts? Most LSS have machines you can use if you are a member or if you have or know someone with the new little sizzix sizzlets?

Or you can also use rub-on letters. I love the rub ons that Making Memories make, they come in colors now and many different fonts!

Good luck! ;)

Not that I have the steady hand or patience for such a thing ;) but I've read that it helps if you reverse the print in Word first -- make it mirror imaged, so that when you cut it, you are really cutting on the back side. When you are done, you flip it over ..

You could also try setting it up in photoshop, and printing it directly on your sheet. If you want 12x12, you may be able to take it to a local print shop (kinkos?) and have them print it on your paper. If you have a recollections store near you, they may have a 12x12 printer as well.

Good luck!
