Kerri, you're an awesome Mom! I went and got my nose pierced on my own (well with my cousin) when I was 19 and my Mom was way more mellow about it after I got it than I though she was going to be. My piercing didn't last long, but my thoughts of my Mom changed when she didn't flip out about it.

Of course it caught attention. It was very abrasive. I, for one, would be interested in hearing your opinion. I would never feel the need to "punch [someone] in the face" simply due to their choice to wear bracelets so I would be curious as to your opinion.
