This is the information I received for having a Dessert Party.

French Island , Eau de France ~ Epcot®:

The food and beverage minimum for use of this venue for a Reception or Dessert Party is $19.50 plus tax per person (exclusive of service charges and sales tax) for a minimum of 50 guests. The venue rental fee is $325.00 plus tax. Cold food items and a limited Chef’s choice of hot food items can be served at this location. There are specific guidelines for showcasing and serving wedding cakes - please ask your consultant for additional information. An additional $12.50 plus tax per person will be charged for viewing IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Disney charter bus transportation at $88.00 per hour for a minimum of 5 hours will be required. This venue is not wheelchair accessible. All talent performing within this area must fit the theming of the area and must be approved by Epcot® and secured by Walt Disney Entertainment through your Wedding Planner. All floral and décor items must be provided by Disney.

OK so what if I don't have 50 people come to the wedding, then I can't have a dessert party and why would I need another 5 hours charter bus required when the party is only what 2 hrs at the most and if people have tickets to the park why do you have to pay a viewing fee?

I'm so confused. Thank you to anybody who can help

We were going to have our reception there before we found out it was extra magic hours. Anyways, if your guests have park tickets, then they can use their own transportation, but will have to either come in the main gate or the gate by the french pavilion. If that is the case, then you won't have to pay for the charter bus. As far as the minimums, I don't think you really have to have 50 bodies there, but usually if you have a few less then they will just let you pay for the "imaginary people". I would double check with your EM about the minimum numbers for each location. You could possibly use just the lower french island or just the upper instead of both. Good luck!

We had a DP at the UK Lower terrace as we had less people.
We had all our guests use park tickets so we didnt pay the Illuminations viewing fee.

The reason for the 5hours on the coach is that is the minimum amount of time you can rent the bus for. We had already picked the coach for the day anyway so just extended the time accordingly. If your guests can get to the park by themselves you can do it that way.

If your wanting to wear your dress in the park you have to arrange transport backstage as your not allowed through a main entrance - you can use a town car though?

I don't know if I am going to wear my wedding dress. The reception will be over at 6 then the dessert party at nine so I might just change into a cute casual dress.

I was told that they will go as low as 30 people at the French Islands.

Thank you for all the help girls. I go to my planning session September 17th so I will obviously get all of my answers then, just wanted a heads up.Thank you!!:)

There are 2 parts to the french island actually 3...french upper (minimum 50 guests- and yes they usually are strict on this), french lower (this is lower than 50 guests) and the french arm also lower than 50 guests.

I know this is tricky but if you think it is a possibility you are having less than 50 people than do not use french upper (because they will make you sign a contract for 50 people). I have heard they are pretty strict with their mins at french upper and Italy, but don't fear because you can have a great DP.

You can use french lower or the UK terrace both are beautiful locations with top notch views.

Ok with transport- EVERYTHING WITH DISNEY IS SUBJECT TO YOUR PLANNER I am using buses (but this is my welcome party) and having less than 5 hours. If you are changing out of your dresss and there is a time gap then it would be most economical just to have all the guests meet at international gateway and be escorted over to the dp- this will cut out the bus tiotally!Hope that helps!:goodvibes

Yes that does help thank you. Our guest list is 50 people but I am only assuming that 30-40 will come.

I will have everybody meet at the international gateway, that will be so much easier. You can get to there from the Boardwalk Resort correct.
