can someone explain how the orbitz deal gives you your tickets on your magic band?

I can stay 7 nights at CBR instead of POP for the same price BUT I still am leary for some reason. From what I understand I have to call DME to get my luggage tags and pickup info? Think they will really send it or will there be problems since it is not set up through disney itself?

Also, if you buy the 7 day ticket do those tickets get added onto your magic band like they do if you buy it through disney? I don't want to have a voucher to deal with. It is really important to me that I can make fastpass reservations on my band and have tickets already on my band.

Just nervous at jumping into the water having never dealt with Orbitz. disney makes it so easy! But a free upgrade? that would be nice!

I just did this deal this week. It took some phone calls but worth it for the savings for us. When I booked through Orbitz I was able to input my hotel reservation number immediately into My Disney Experience. I did not lose any ADRs when I cancelled Disney's booking. It took 5 days for Orbitz to get what's called My Magic Code from Disney allowing me to link the tickets. I also went on Disney's Website to book Magical Express. All of this took a little more effort than booking directly through Disney but it all works out the same in the end with very little extra effort. Again to me worth it for the savings. Extra money will pay for a couple of character meals! Let me know if you have questions.

How did you get the "my magic code" from Orbitz? Did you have to ask them for it? so the tickets are linked to your room and they will be added to your magic band before it is ever mailed out to you? I have booked through disney many times before. Our magic mail always came with coupon discounts, reservation info, etc. Will we still get that since we did not book directly through disney? and what information do you have to give to DME when you call? Just the disney room reservation code?

DME isn't a problem because the only requirement for using it is staying on property; it doesn't matter where you booked.

There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info, or FP+ info actually "on" a MagicBand. The tickets will be accessed via your MagicBand.

The MagicBands just contain a unique serial number that is used to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file. I don't know if Orbitz sends vouchers or the actual tickets, but you should be able to add either to your MDE file.

We bought tickets for our Aug trip through Orbitz about a month ago when ebates was running the 20% cash back deal.

Based on advice from another thread, I e-mailed customer service at Orbitz and asked them for "my magic code" for the tickets. They replied within a couple days with the code (a single code for all 4 tickets). I entered the code in MDE in the spot where it asks you to link your tickets. All 4 tickets popped up and I was able to "assign" each ticket to one of us. It looks like it's all set & others have reported that we won't even need to pick up the physical tickets--they should be on our MagicBands when they arrive in the mail this summer.

However, we used a pin code to book our resort & didn't book that through Orbitz.

I called Orbitz at 888-656-4546 to get my magic code. The tickets are on my Disney experience attached to my band. No physical tickets will be needed now. I assume the same booklet will come from Disney with all info and coupons. You just need a resort reservation number to call Disney for Magical Express. It sounds more complicated than it actually is, it's just a couple of phone calls. I was nervous about Orbitz too but it's worked out great for much less $$!

I called, got my conf number, linked tickets to my account within minutes. When I booked POFQ, did the same thing. Called and got DD added for free, added DH's name and she sent a conf email within secs also gave me the Disney conf # over the phone. Linked it to MDE. Next day I called DME, looked my info up with my last name since I had left my info at home (called at work) and and about 5 days we got our luggage tickets/package. Pretty slick for us!!!!

Oh and once basic band was linked, as above, we made FP.

It doesn't give you tickets, you have to buy the tickets separately and then link them to MDX. It's not a package - it's as if you had purchased the room and the tickets separately - in a booking of this type your tickets will not be linked to your room - you have to have them both entered into MDX. Yes you can buy tickets from Disney and get them linked. If you buy tickets through Orbitz there are already posters here who have described how to link those to your MDX account. You don't link anything to your magic band. All the band does is read your MDX profile.

On your Orbitz confirmation, look down at the area where they list the information about your resort - name, dates, how many in the party, etc. There will be a 6 digit reference (both numbers and letters) labeled "hotel confirmation number." Use that to link to MDX and you'll get magic bands. It should be on your confirmation e-mail or your My Trips page if you expand the details, so you don't have to call Orbitz to get it.
