Can someone explain airline etickets to me?

Call me not the brightest bulb on the tree, but this is the first time we've ever flown using etickets.

Every other time we've flown we had paper tickets that we had to carry with us.

We are using them at the end of May for a short trip.

Should we call the airline before we leave to confirm that we still have tickets? When we booked the tickets we were told to print off a page with all our reservation info, but never even got an email with flight details or whatever.

DH is afraid that after we get to the airport that morning, or again when we get to the airport to get home, that they won't have any idea who we are because we don't have paper tickets.

What do we do after we go to the airport? Do we just go to the ticket window like if we had a paper ticket?

I'm so embarrassed to ask this. I honestly don't know. We don't fly that often. We usually drive, so this is all new to us.

Thanks for any advice you can give me. :D

Relax! E tickets are very easy!

Basically, when you get to the ticket counter, you just give them your name & where you are flying.

They check your id (drivers license), and print your boarding pass. I very rarely see anyone actually handing a paper ticket any more.

You should take your email confirmation along just in case. You really shouldn't have a problem!

::yes::

You should also be able to use the airlines websight to check your filghts for changes, or even check in on line before you get to the airport, if they have that option. Some airlines do, some don't.
Some airlines (Delta/Song, my ffavorite) have self serve kiosks were you can check yourslef in, and hand any checked luggage to an attendant. Lst time we used this, in Logan airport no less, we were only 15 minutes from entering the terminal to the gate, while people being checked in manually had a 45 minute wait.

Thanks. We usually take a commuter flight, but this time since I got such cheap tickets we are driving 4 hours to get to the airport. I just didn't want something to go wrong after driving all that way.

Thanks again . :)
