We will be there Thanksgiving. We may use our car for all parks, except MK.

i stayed there in june of 2001- the boat to mk was great, the bus to mgm i believed stoped at some water parks, i think
the bus to epcot was good
i would have to say all the bus;s were ok except transportation to downtown disney--we waited forever, we got on a bus-that took us to the poly-finally we just took the monorail to the transportation center

so-boat to mk is great
the rest is pretty good

this all might of changed since i ve been there

There is also a boat to the Contemporary where you can get the monorail to the TTC. There you can switch to Epcot monorail.

Unless you are going to use the car to go offsite for a visit or to eat - I would stick with onsite transportation. The 2 ways out of WL are Boat to MK or Cont. and buses. The bus systems for us worked out well but there was no real pattern except WL was always the first stop to pick up and most often the first to drop off. The only long wait we had was being picked up from Downtown disney - I think we waited about 45 minutes. That was annoying but the rest of the time was fine - usually about 5-10 minutes. In the mornings I saw someone with a clipboard tracking the buses (which kind, when arriving) that kind of stuff - hopefully to keep things on track! Word to the wise - unless you want the more scenic monorail ride to Epcot - it's faster to take the bus!

We stayed at WL last November and the only complaint we had was the bus service. Maybe it was just a bad week, but several times we waited at least 45 minutes to be picked up at WL.

The boat ride to the MK is the best. We have found it to be even more convenient than the Poly/monorail.

The bus system is very hard to predict. Sometimes it works out great and sometimes its a nightmare.

One night after leaving MGM the WL/FW line had 3 buses worth of people waiting. The other resort bus lines had maybe a half bus worth. We could not understand it. I'm sure there must have been a good reason for it.

WL used to share a bus with GF and Poly and I thought it was better. Now it shares with FW. It just seems to take longer. If you have a car, I would consider taking it to the other parks.

We were there in August 2002. The transportation was great. The boat ride was enjoyable the busses very timely. You do share the busses msot of the time with fort wilderness. Usually though WL is picked up first and dropped off first. I would stick to the disney transportation vs car. Much more convenient and relaxing.

How far is it from WL to FW?
Are there mutliple stops at FW or just one?

Last Oct, just one stop at FW. It takes about 5 mins to get there since the stop is at the Outpost (where FW guests check in). The problem with the FW stop is that this gets backed up and you can end up waiting there for 10 minutes.

This is what we expreienced last Oct....

For MK: take boat.
For AK: Drive your own car if you have one. Once the bus picks you up it can 1/2 hour to get there since there is a stop at FW.
For Studios: Probably best off driving due to stop at Typhoon Lagoon (I think this is the one) and FW.
For epcot: Either bus direct to Epcot or bus to TTC then monorail. Take whichever bus shows up first but if both show up together probably take direct bus.
