I've heard it mentioned that since the new menu started you can still get normal fries. Can anyone confirm this is true, have you done it?

Trying to plan our meals and if they don't have regular fries, Hungry Bear is out :headache:

I was wrong on my post and must have heard from the CM if I wanted slaw instead of the sweet potato fries when I made my choice.

According to allears you can get slaw as a substitute. Fries are yucky for you anyway! I wouldn't rule out a restaurant just because of the fry selection :confused3:confused3. The rest of the food seems amazing there. I can't wait to try the tomato sandwich, fries or no fries! :thumbsup2

I sure hope so! I'm not a sweet potato fry fan.

Me neither. When Tony reviewed it I asked him if reg. fries were an option and he said they were not. That was a few weeks ago when it opened. I have been hoping they would start to offer reg fries too. But I haven't been yet, so I don't know if they changed that or not. The new TT in the DLH also only offers sweet pot. fries. I guess I'd go with the slaw option if I had to.

Went yesterday and regular fries were not an option (I'm not a sweet potato fan). They did also have the slaw (which was really good, I highly recommend it!) OR onion rings, which bf had and were really good too.

That is too bad--I'm not a fan of sweet potato fries, slaw, OR onion rings!

Me neither. :sad1:Well I always enjoy eating at Story Teller cafe anyway. I did like the peace and quiet of HB though.

That's a shame, we don't like sweet potato fries either, and really don't like slaw! We had this place on the list but I'm thinking were gonna skip it. It's nice that they are offering some healthier options, but we do that enough at home. When I'm at Disney I wanna be bad! lol

It's not traditional coleslaw (which I will never eat). It is a "zesty slaw" with big chunks of carrots and peppers and, of course, a "zesty" aoili-type mayo (not just traditional mayo). I didn't have it as a side dish but the "slaw" comes as a topping on the fried green tomato sandwich and I liked it a lot.

I'm happy about sweet potato fries! I am now no longer allowed to eat fries, but doc said sweet potato are okay! I'm really hoping there are lots of alternatives because everything I used to eat I no longer can (at least for a while!).

Wow, I'm REALLY bummed about this. No Hungry Bear for us :headache:

Thanks for posting this, I'm willing to try the sweet potato fries just to see but by the looks of the tomato sandwhich I may not have room for a side anyway, but DH probably won't like them. Does anyone know if the slaw has onions in it and if so could they be picked out easily? Thanks.

That's too bad, I assume at least one of those things would be enjoyed by most people! I was impressed by the varied options. I like all three, but I'm not a very picky eater.
