Can someone compare Royal Caribbean and DCL please?

tezb,

The Voyager will be in Miami through May 2004. Then it will go to New York for the summer, alternating between 9-day Western Caribbean and 5-day Canada itineraries. These itineraries were just announced a couple of weeks ago. They have proven to be popular so far. It will return in October 2004 (late). However, the Explorer of the Seas and the Navigator of the Seas are still in Miami, alternating Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. Add the Adventure out of San Juan and the Mariner out of Port Canaveral and you have over 10,000 berths departing from Florida every weekend... and about 14,000 in the winter months.. Plus 3,500 in San Juan.

Debkay, when can we book for Summer 2004, Mariner?

The itineraries and prices for the summer of 2004 for the Mariner have been loaded into RCCL's reservation system, but they have not opened up for ressies yet. I don't know for sure, but I would suspect that if all of the info is loaded, it will not be long before they open up ..

I was on Orbitz this morning and they had the NY itinerary open

kjcolv,

The deciding factors were, in no particular order, the age of the ships, the balconys on Disney and Castaway Cay. I'm still kind of surprised but really happy. We have sailed on RCI's Enchantment and are on Explorer next month. It will be interesting to compare. Thanks again everyone!

PiperG and others interested in Radiance to Alaska. We leave in 3 weeks for our Alaskan cruise on Radiance. I'll try to post something when we get back, or e-mail me to jog my memory--we'll be back 8/5.

We’re going on the Magic the end of August and I’m trying to book a vacation for my 2 –DS – ages9 and 3 1/2 and myself. I looked at doing the DCL cruise again but it’s the eastern and we will be doing that in August. I looked into the Navigator of the Seas for us. Has anyone gone on this one? Would the kids have a good time? Also I’m a single parent so I’m not sure how it would be for me. Oh, every other year for the past 6 years – except for when my little one was born we did WDW in November.

Thanks, I will plan e-mail you.

Are you traveling with children? I am interested in the types of activities they have and if there a lots of kid-friendly options for meals.

Also, what category are you in? We are planning to book soon and trying to decide what category to get.

Have a great time!!!

Pickles61,

We have been on the Navigator of the Seas and the Explorer of the Seas. I have the daily Compass Activity sheets posted for both cruises along with a DCCL vs. RCCL comparison.

E-mail me and I will send you the web site ...

I think you and your children would have a great time on either ship..
