Hi,

i have been reading about the different Annual Passes available and found this on Mousesavers about the Dream passport:

one day - 20% off at virtually all restaurants and bars in the parks and hotels
all year - 10% off at virtually all restaurants and bars in the parks and hotels
a free aperitif at table service restaurants
one day - 20% off at virtually all shops in the resort
all year - 20% off at virtually all shops in the resort
50% off evening special events requiring separate admission
free parking
20% off a ticket for a friend
10% off golf greens fees
free admission to Hurricanes nightclub for passholder and one guest (18 and older)
special discounts on hotel rooms
invitations to special events
5 FastPass tickets (valid for 1 month)
Access to Fantasyland one hour before the opening of Disneyland Park
Free hire of wheelchairs, lockers and kennels

I am confused about the restaurant discount - what is the one day bit and all year bit? Also if I have a Dream passport and the rest of the group have Fantasy Passport can I claim the discount at restaurants for the whole group? There will be 6 adults, one teenager (15) and one child (2)

Also do i buy the annual passes when I get there or do I need to order online in advance to get the best price?

Thanks in advance for your help

PS I am a bit rusty with my French, I looked on the AP info on the french site and I don't think my travel dates are included in the blackout dates for the Fantasy Pass - can anyone confirm that we will definitely be able to use a Fantasy AP on the 5 - 9th August this year?

Hi,

You "only" get 10% year round, no free aperitif anymore

one day - 20% off at virtually all shops in the resort
all year - 20% off at virtually all shops in the resort

20% on all shops, except on select items. E.g.: books: no reduction, LE: 10% reduction

50% off evening special events requiring separate admission
free parking
20% off a ticket for a friend
10% off golf greens fees
free admission to Hurricanes nightclub for passholder and one guest (18 and older)
special discounts on hotel rooms
invitations to special events

You get all that

5 FastPass tickets (valid for 1 month)

Not anymore

Access to Fantasyland one hour before the opening of Disneyland Park
Free hire of wheelchairs, lockers and kennels

Yes

Btw, why look on some unofficial website, if you can get all the correct information on the DLP-website??

Btw, do you need to still buy all those APs? In that case: buy 2000 shares, become member of the shareholder's club, and get 15% discount on APs, and extra discounts etc!

And don't forget, the Dream AP gives access to Extra MAgic Hours even staying off site!

Dream pass holders can also park at all DLP hotels except the DLH.

This replaces the entry to Fantasyland 1 hr before.

There are no blackout days for Dream pass

If only one person has dream pass you can still get discount off shops and restaurants for all the party however only dream pass holder will get aperetif and entry to EMH - unless staying in Dis hotel then get entry anyhow.

You need to buy pass when you get there.

Look at sponsorship thread about info on getting discount by being sponsored.

The official site wasn't letting me use the search facility and I couldn't find the AP info - when I googled it I got it all in French which I mostly read but wanted to be sure.

So both Dream and Fantasy pass holders get 10% off in restaurants?

The reason I was buying all those APs is that we are going for 5 days and four nights and as far as I can see there is very little difference in price between the special offer 4 day pass (for the price of a 3 hopper) at £89 and the Fantasy pass at approx £92 and the discounts would make up the already small difference in price.

Absolutely! If anyone ever is planning on 3 days or more an AP is totally worth while. We have had 6 now, and they always pay for themselves very quickly.

I always use DLRP Magic site as I find it very reliable and up to date. There is a good section which outlines the annual passes.

The dates you mentioned are not blackout days for fantasy pass (its 13-17 aug 07)

Not true Sandra, with our Dream we had 5 aperitifs 3 weeks ago!:hippie:

We also got ours this week. Dh developed quite a taste for the strawberry kir ( think that is what it was called)

Thanks so much for the link and everyones help.

Also, just to confirm, with the Dream passes, you continue to get into Fantasyland one hour before opening (except on EMH mornings I believe) and also the right to attend EMH.

I dont know if the Mods want to move this question as its slightly off topic but here goes anyway.

We have to renew our Ap's (Dream) for our forthcoming trip in december and plan to take advantage of the 6month extra renewal offer. I will need an additional sponsor to purchase an AP for my Mum who is travelling with us.

Can you explain what additional benefits there would be for my party to buy these shares and how do i do it ?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give.

Difficult one - Sandra may chime in. But since Eurodisney SCA shares are no longer listed on the London stock exchange, it is a pain in the backside to buy shares in EDL from the UK. We used to have a significant shareholding years ago, but when they delisted we had to either sell them or pay a huge admin fee to transfer them to the Belgian exchange. Sandra lives on the contenant, so it is easier for her. Also, the laws on share holding is different. If you wish to buy shares in EDL, then you need to use a broker who is listed on a European exchange and pay a higher rate.

For UK residents I do not think it is worth it unless you are desperate to hold EDL stock. The perks of the Salon Mickey breakfast and shareholder discount are not worth it unless you are going to buy a lot of passes and souvenirs.

Personally I think the business case in favour of Dream AP's stack up much better for Brits. Now if I lived in Europe, no doubt I would own stock again.

I just went to my bank to buy the shares, but I know quite some Brits here have them.

With the shares, you can become a member of the shareholder's club. You get 15% discount in restaurants, 15% discount on passes, invitations for special events, etc etc etc.
I paid 160 EUR for my shares, and this includes all fees by the bank, an dI think in passes alone, it save dme already all that money. Take in account all the reduction I got in the restaurants...

Plus, it's nice to get access to Salon Mickey and have that pretty card!

I bought mine when they were still listed on the LSE but several DISers have recently bought them through Selftrade.

My shares have more than paid for themselves with the 15% discount off APs, 15% off table-service meals and 15% off shopping (most items) although I will now use a Dream AP for shopping as that now gives 20% discount. I can also use the Shareholders card at Disney Stores in the UK and get 10% discount.

I also like going to Salon Mickey. :thumbsup2 We may only visit once or twice in a trip but as there are 5 of us it certainly saves a few euros if we can grab a snack there.

Just thinking about getting a Dream AP

I know that the shareholders club gives 15% off restaurants - buffet and table only.

The Dream AP gives 10% off (plus a free drink at table only) but does the dream AP work anywhere they sell food or is it limited to buffet and table only?

Thanks

Hi tigger900 and welcome to the DIS! :welcome:

You can also get 10% off at counter service restaurants with all the APs. :thumbsup2 Have a look here.
