Can someone answer a simple question for me regarding todays election?

I have been looking for this info, but can't seem to find it. Of the 34 senate seats up for grabs this week, how many are currently held by republicans and how many are currently held by democrats?

Not sure if I can totally answer your question (you might want to go onto CNN.com, they have some good articles about the house and Senate races. In the Senate Republicans and Democrats each hold 49 seats, one is held by an independant, and an independant was recently appointed by Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura to fill the seat left vacant by the sudden death of senator Wellstone ( this appointment is temporary-winner of today's election will be in this seat). Should be a long and interesting night!
