Can somebody walk me through the renting process

I'm planning on renting points for 3 or 4 nights in October and a week in November. I'm a little confused about the process - can anyone give me their first hand experiences/advice?

My family and I recently agreed to rent points from a DVC member. I posted a request on the Rent/Trade board. The DVC member contacted me via email and had points to rent. I told him what we needed - resort, date range, point needed - and he called member services to make a reservation for us. He sent us the confirmation letter and then we sent him payment. We have been very pleased with the transaction so far. Can't wait to get back to WDW in early August.
