Can some explain pop warner week to me please.

Hello all, we are looking at going next year round about this time. I've read a few posts in the theme parks forum about this pop warner thing.

From what i can see its some sort of school cheerleading competetion, but i've no idea who pop or warner is.

Our american friends seem to think this is a bad time to go and they also think that you should avoid value resorts, we were thinking of staying in pop centuary.

Has any one experienced this particular week before and can someone give me a british perpesctive on it.

We normally go nov-dec time ,only once have i been on that week and i would try and avoid it from now on
The hotels are over run by high spirited children ,who at times seem to have no supervision
The transport is more crowed
The pools are more crowed
The dinning areas are just awful
they run around late at night making awful noise
They even put bubble bath in the pool and fountains in music hotel
They jumped out at people walking back to the hotel ,when it was late and dark
Some are nice and polite , but many are very rude ,i suppose they just want a good time ,but often it at the exspense of others
My grandchildren got very nervous at times when they were many of them around
They push infront in the queues
Maybe just me, but if you can avoid it ,then i would advise you to do so
Lots of other things to say , but i think i have had my say and put my feelings forward enough

Forgot to say ,disney also expects trouble i would think because they boarded up the mermaid statue at the pool and removed the old car that is parked outside ,that was taken away until after the event was over !

Were going during pop warner week next year - and I would avoid the resorts they are staying at - this year I believe they are being housed in the values and Coronado Springs. From what I have read its only the hotels thats have problems as the kids are at cheerleading in the sports complex. As the week goes on there are less kids around as they get knocked out.

I also read that this year the contract is up for pop warner at disney, and there were whispers they might not renew it because of the disruption - but it must be a big money maker for disney so who knows?
