Can resale buy gold pass since new rules?

Hi i live in Canada and am at the point of rofr, i was wondering if i will be able to buy a gold pass when we become dvc? we cannot buy now since we are not Florida residents so we are stuck with the very expensive platinum pass, but no where does it say if this perk is incidental which was removed or resale dvc owner can buy gold pass?

After your resale goes through, you can do an add-on direct with Disney for 25 points and then get discounted DVC passea

You definitely cannot unless you add on direct as mentioned by a previous poster. I am positive of this because I was trying to buy gold passes online recently and kept getting a weird error message. I called member services to purchase and when I told her about the weird error she asked if we were resale buyers after 4/4 because that would explain the problem (as we would not have been eligible). However we bought back in early 2015 so once she verified that she was able to process the transaction over the phone.
