Can party split up for dining ressies??

Dumb question and I know I should know the answer but all this DIS is making my head spin. We have a party of 7 booked on the same package. My MIL and FIL may want to eat at a TS that we're not interested in as they have different tastes than we do... will that be a problem when I make dining reservations?? I guess I will just tell the CM on the phone that we're eating separately? I'm sure I'm making this more difficult than it actually is...

You sure can spilt up parties. We have 8 going in December and have several different reservations for 4 at different locations. If you are on the dining plan, they will only take the credits for the people that are dining at that time. Hope you have a magical time.
