We are bringing our 18 month old. The only attraction that I'd love to see, but that our son can't go on is the "soarin" attraction.

Do you know if husband and I could be in line with our son, then one go on & one stay and hold baby, then hand off baby, and the second parent go on?

Is this done?

Yes you can. I think its called child swap. Just let the CM know that you want to swap and they will tell you what to do. It works out really good for those rides with restrictions.

yes you can.
I was just down there for 10 days (got back late late yesterday) and i saw a family doing this!

In most cases, you go through the line and one parent rides while the other stays with the child. Then, first parent gets done and stays with child while second parent rides.

Different attractions do it different ways. Some have the non-riding parent and child wait in a special area near the boarding area, and when the riding parent finishes the other parent can just get right on immediately. Others, like Splash Mountain (the only one I did the child swap on) give you a priority (untimed) FastPass good for the holder and up to 3 other people. The non-riding parent waits outside the ride complex, and when the first parent exits the ride they swap the child and the parent who was waiting now goes through the FastPass return entrance. This scenario works well with families with a few kids or with any other co-travelers; since the special FastPass is good for the parent and up to 3 other people, others in the party get to ride a second time!
