Whether to go to WDW next Aug 08 or Oct 08, and whether to book a flydrive and use DVC points or whether to do a package, DH not much help either he can not decide.

I'm more inclined for Oct for Halloween and cooler weather for DD.

having been both times of year.. I would say October.
The weather is still hot.. but not as humid as August.
of course too.. you could be there for the food and wine festival which is fun..and the halloween stuff too...

We only go in August because we have to go in School holidays. If youre not constrained by that time, I would go October time.. its quiet and the weather is much nicer.

Of course, given a free reign, i would go May time.. the flower and garden festival is stunning... adn May weather is low rain, low humidity.. and nice and warm :)

I think we have been 4 times in Aug and 4 times in Oct. Without question October any day. Oct weather is usually perfect, some Augusts we have had crazy rains for 5-6 hours a day. Crowds are a lot better to deal with in Oct, there are Halloween events, food and wine in Epcot. If you are considering a Disney cruise they are about half the cost in Oct. Last 7 night we did in Oct cost us $2,200 for 3 of us, August would be almost $4,000(if the Magic is even there in Aug). Costs for flights are a lot cheaper in Oct.
Come to think of it unless you have high school aged children I can't think of a reason to go in August, Can't wait for DS to leave school:goodvibes
Only you can decide on Package or Flydrive or even flight only. 9 times out of 10 we find flight only cheapest option but Oct is sometimes a good time to do packages.

If constrained by school/college/university holidays August but if not October. We are going in August this year because of college/university holidays.

Price flydrive and DVC against package and pick the cheapest.

October has longest time to save up as well.
