Can not believe what I forgot to do!

Our online check in for our BA flight was at 11:45 today and I forgot to log in and choose our seats. When I did remember to check in 2 hours late there were no available seats together and there are only two of us!

So annoyed with myself as I am normally so organised!

If it's any consolation (and it probably isn't), in my experience, you need to pay to pre-book your seats with BA if you want them together. Even if you'd been on the ball with online check-in, I wouldn't mind betting you'd have struggled. Of course, everyone and his dog will now post telling me they've never had such problems.

If it is any consolation there were lots of folks on out flight out and back in the same boat. Out on 13th back on 27th and both flights full to capacity. I heard one family of eight saying they had booked window and mid seats up 4 rows of one side of the plane! Probably hoping it would be a quiet flight and they would get more space.

Ask at check-in. That happened to me once and I said I was a bad flyer (I'm not) and really needed to sit with my husband. They put us together. Worth a try.

Unfortunately we couldn't get seats together, every seat on the flight was taken and all those seated around us were families so we couldn't get anyone to swap seats. Oh well, the flight it self was not too bad although it was delayed by 45 mins.

Immigration took nearly 2 hours though, half hour was spent standing at counter 6 waiting for the guy in front of us to be dealt with by the officer. In the end we were moved to a different counter as the man who was getting people to stand at each counter could tell I was getting very agitated!
