Can name engraved pins be traded?

I have a few nice Disney pins with names (Elizabeth) engraved on them. Can these be traded with CM at the parks?

The rules state that any pins with proper names (Mary, Jane, Tom, etc) on them cannot be traded. However, you can trade pin with names like Dad, Favorite Son, etc. I feel sorry for the people who buy the ones on eBay in large lot that have names on them because they will be surprised when they try to trade them.
