can my mom check in without me?

we have reservations at Poly (yippee!!!) next Saturday, My mom and dad are taking Amtrak and get in early in the day. We are flying and don't get in until late, the reservations for both rooms are in my name. So my question is, will they be allowed to check in before we get there?

Afraid not, the person whose name is on the reservation has to check in with ID. You might add them to your reservation as a primary for one room.

Last year, my mom's plane was arriving in Orlando several hours earlier than mine. I contacted Disney ahead of time to see if she could check in early since I had made the reservations for both of our rooms. They told me it depended on the CM. I figured, they'd probably let her check into her room, and I'd still have to check into mine when I got there. They were great about it however, and she was able to check everyone in, even without me being there. I assume it shouldn't be a problem, as her name will be listed as a guest on the reservation.

My DH went down the day of Christmas (2004/2005) last year and checked in to two rooms in my parents names a day before the rest of us arrived. He had to bring a letter from my parents stating that he could check in for them (we had in notorized). He brought their credit card too. The ressie was paid in full by the way.

I would suggest emailing Disney from their web site with your question. When you get a favorable response make sure to print it and take it down with you. This may take several tries as it can depend on the CM answering your email. We did this also.

It worked great. They even were aware that we were sending my DH down a day early so that we could ge the AP rate that ended on Dec 25! I even talked to guest relations about this point blank and they helped us make it work!

We tried in July to check in for DW parents and couldn't. The CM said they needed to see an ID that had the primary persons name on it.

Checked into the Poly on August 19th, with the ressie being in my friends name. No problem at all. My name was also on the ressie. Re confirm that your name is on the ressie, and there should be no issues. You will have to provide a cc for payment in full for both rooms you check into though
