Can my DD10 order from the kid's menu? (Not a buffet, I realize that.) But can she order a meal from the kid's menu at say, 50's Prime Time? We would NOT be using the Dining Plan.

Doesn't matter if you are on the DDP or not. She can order off either menu.

The fixed price places like buffets and family style then she would be an adult for those meals. She would still be able to eat from the kids section of the buffets, if she wanted.

At 50's Prime Time I shared my meal with my niece. I ate the chicken breast and she ate the other 3 pieces of chicken. We shared the fries and corn. I also shared the peanut butter and jam shake. She was too full for dessert so I tried to eat it but couldn't finish it.

We just returned from 22 nights at WDW eating mainly at TS restaurants and my DS11 ordered off the kids menu at every restaurant (except buffets obviously) without a problem at all, except the Plaza at MK park. We asked for a kids menu when being seated and the lady seating us asked my DS's age. I said 11 and she said that we could not have a kids menu for him as it was for children 9 and under, as he was over 9 he would have to order off the adults menu. I said he had been ordering off the kids menus our whole holiday at lots of restaurants at WDW. She said "the kids menu is for children 9 and under, your son is not 9 or under so he will have to order off the adults menu". There was no arguing with her :headache:

But we ate lots of TS restaurants (including 50's prime time twice) and never a problem at any others :thumbsup2

That is good to know that most places did not give you a problem.. I have a DS who will have turned 11 by the time we go to WDW in April..He is the pickiest eater I have ever met..(Plain cheeseburgers, Cheese Pizza and hot dogs are the basics.) He will not try new foods.. So basically, for us to eat at Le Cellier or Ohanas as a family, he will have to order off the kids menu...And personally, I would not care if we had to pay more..However, If a CM told me that he could not order off the childrens menu do I have the right to lie and tell them he is 9..(In reality he will only be a year older than the end of the age 9.)

Both dds (11 and 12) ordered off the kids menu lots of places. They are not big eaters and mostly just want chicken nuggets or pizza. Some places they ordered off the adult menu and split the entree. The only restaurant that would let them order off the kids menu was Tutto Italia.

We always let the hostess know we would like a children's menu for DS. We have never had a problem ordering off that menu. 2 trips at 10, 1 at 11. He'll be 11 still on our upcoming trip and we plan on asking for the children's menu once again as he really dislikes most foods. We're hoping all will be well this time around as well :goodvibes. Also wanted to add that while dining at the plaza at the MK, Ds did order off the children's menu, but you could tell the server wasn't all to pleased.
