Can my 10 yr old order from the kids menu?

We have the Free Dining package. In terms of Disney Dining my son who is 10 is considered adult. Will they allow him to order off the kids menu? I'm guessing the answer is yes, as it's much cheaper to serve nuggets than steak .

Also, how are the portions on the kids menu? I can't seem to remember. My 10 year old has an adult sized appetite! Can we ask for a bigger portion since he has adult "credits"? Maybe an adult chicken nuggets and fries!

-It is a smaller portion, but you can order off of the kids menu. Generally, there is a similar item on the adult menu, work with your wait staff-they are experts.

Even adults can order off the kids' menu in most cases - I spent a week in WDW with a then-over-30 friend and she had many meals of chicken nuggets and mickey pasta... (picky eater ). She was fine on the buffet meals, of course, but at regular table-service she was unwilling to order regular entrees in several cases.

When she ordered these meals, they usually would bring a slightly larger portion, plated like an adult meal (no paper-lined baskets or mickey-head plates). They wouldn't usually include the 'appetizer' that comes with a kid's meal (which is usually just a cup of soup or a tiny salad, anyway, so no big deal), and she would order dessert from the 'adult' dessert menu. I don't know for certain if they would do this 'adult'-ification (hi Dr. Doofenschmirtz!) when a barely-over-the-line (10yr old) ordered it, but if it didn't work out at my first attempt, I might just have my child order my dinner choice while I ordered his kids'-adult-meal...
