I have heard some people have been successful, but it’s hit or miss. I struggle with staying on the phone for hours not knowing if I can do what I need to.
I have not read any reports of people extending tickets but as you said, things can be hit or miss and phone times are long. I do not think MS can do anything for multiday tickets even if sales were going. AFAIK, they only deal with DVC APs.

Been calling all day to see what can be done with our DVC AP busy signal all day. Our passes were set to expire at the end of April, but were extended to the end of August. Our reservation is in November. Probably going to have to cancel if we can’t get through and get passes.

Don't call MS...call the VIPassholder number. Ask to talk to a supervisor and ask if you can purchase your renewal so that you can book November. There have been reports on other forums where people have been successful.
I’ve read several reports of people either getting phone CM to add days and also someone who is giving instructions of how to do it in the app by modifying their reservations. Only works if you have a ticket to modify.
