Hi!
We're staying at Port Orleans but we want to eat at O'Hana on our first night at WDW. Can ME drop us off at Polynesian or are we required to get off at the hotel we are checking into?
Thanks!

Ask at check in I believe they will let you go there.

Since each ME bus only makes a few stops, if you get on the Poly bus which may not service Port Orleans, I'm wondering what will happen to your luggage. Will it be put on the Poly bus and taken to your room without you? :confused3

They will not do it..

ME will only take you to the resort that you are booked at.

Remember, ME is not like a taxi waiting to take you wherever..

They staff the buses based upon that days arrivals and departures. They have a limited time to get folks to the resorts in a preset routine and back again. Sure there is some flexiblity, but that is to cover flight delays.

You could very well arrive and there is no ME bus loop to say the poly for another hour because nobody is incoming for that loop during that time.

That is why you might sit on a half empty bus for 20 minutes. They know they "x" amount of incoming flights with folks going on that one bus loop.

If you are pressed for time, take the ME to your resort and just take one of the cabs to the Poly

Well, sounds like it probably won't work. But, it won't hurt to ask. If they can only take us to PORS, we'll make other arrangements to get to O'Hana. At least it's easy to get to being so close to MK.

Your luggage does not travel with you to your resort on the ME, it is sorted & transported to your resort/room regardless of you being there or not. It typically takes 2-3 hours for your luggage to arrive.

I was just going to ask this same question. I am arriving several hours ahead of my sister for an all girls trip. I have ressies at Ohana for dinner and want to eat solo before she arrives (at midnight). I was wondering about ME just taling me to the Poly as well.

Your luggage will go to the hotel you are scheduled to stay at within 2-3 hours of your arrival. If you want to take a different ME bus to the Poly, no one will stop you from taking the Poly ME bus rather than the PO ME bus...but....

Here is the possible problem...since you did not checkin to your hotel upon arrival at WDW, when your bags arrive at PO they will not have a room to be delivered to. When you then check into PO later that evening, you will have to make arrangements to get your bags delivered to your room. Not sure how long that will take, but it most likely will not be as quick as if you had your bags with you.

Also, by checkin in later that evening, you may not be able to upgrade your room or you maybe limited in your room selection.

The late checkin and the luggage may or may not be an issue...time will tell...

I'm not so sure that's true. On two separate trips, our luggage made it to our room before we checked in. At CSR, the CM said -- "oh, and your luggage is already there." (It was.) At POFQ it happened, too.
