Can link paypal account to bank account?

Hi all,

I am wondering can link paypal account to your bank account. I am thinking setting up one those free checking accounts to link with my paypal account. I am wondering is it safe. I may be the only person that does not have paypal account.

Also I how do shopping with your paypal account. Do use like a credit card that accepts paypal accounts example Wal-Mart.com .

I very new to paypal can tell. LOL

Yes I am only person that don't know use ebay either. LOL

You can link it.

But if you do, be VERY careful. Make your passwords difficult. Change them every so often. Never click on links in official-looking emails; go to the site directly. Be sure your computer doesn't have viruses or spyware on it. You just want to be as careful as possible, b/c if you get a phishing email and click on a link...you might be giving up not just your paypal account, but your checking account too.

My paypal account is linked to a special checking account I only use for paypal (I never ordered checks for it). I can transfer money in and out from my savings account at the same bank, but they are not linked (no overdraft protection or anything). I only keep $25 in the account (if I get more than that, I transfer the rest to savings).

This way, if my account is ever compromised, the most they will get is the $25.

I've been using PayPal for years. I've always had it connected to a special checking account that I never use with checks. I also monitor it daily.

Personally I've had more issues with Bank of Amierica than I've had with PayPal.

I'll never link my paypal account to my checking account again, unless I can set up a special account just for PP. I almost lost $800 because someone was able to get into my Ebay account and and had me paying him almost $800 through PP....and since it was linked to my checking account with had overdraft protection, they got the money. I disputed it with Paypal and they gave me back the money eventually (but I'm pretty sure it was PP's own money and not something they got back from the person who took it) but I'm not taking that chance again!

I have my paypal account set up with a credit card that I only use for PP so I can more easily dispute the charges if someone tries this again.

Smart idea -- open a free checking account specifically for eBay/PayPal business/money transfers. That way, your daily household finances don't get all tied-up!

I'm only 18 and I just moved to college so I made myself a Paypal account last night so I could continue to buy things online; I'm glad I just read this because I never even realised how easy it could be for someone to get into my account have access to my money!

I linked it once but never felt comfortable doing so. Once we moved to another state and closed that account, I never linked it again. If you have a credit card, you put that on there and then you will have the protection your credit card has.
